7 Day Camp Stay. Day: 3
Tadaaa! Day 3!
This day was a bit of a mess. You guys told me to be careful during my camping trip... but you can't stop yourself from falling when you've already started. :l
So now Donnie gets to experience how I accidentally hurt myself. Yeeeyyyy!
Hope you enjoy day 3! Under the cut.
7 Day Camp Stay
Day: 3
Donnie woke up to see clouds covering the sky. The wind had died down a bit. He sat up and saw that Mikey was making something over the fire. He got out of the tent and walked over.
In the pan there was a sandwich cooking. He had made himself a grilled cheese sandwich. Donnie wanted a grilled cheese too! So he grabbed the bread and cheese. After Mikey was done with his, Donnie placed his on the pan next. He watched it as the bread slowly toasted and the cheese became soft. He took it out when it started to drip into the pan. Finally, something that was relatively hot for breakfast. He sat down next to the fire with a cup of tea.
At some point, Mikey had made a couple of pet rocks by drawing faces on them. The large pointy one was called Dwayn. And the short flat one was called Johnson. Leo took charge of taking care of Dwayn and Mikey took care of Johnson. Mikey was doing the dishes when he looked over to find Leo misusing Dwayn as a table while trying to chop a log.
"Leo! You can't use Dwayn as a table!"
"But he's just a rock."
"He is not just a rock! He's Dwayn, the rock!"
Mikey brought Dwayn and Johnson away and cleaned Dwayn off of dirt. Donnie came up to him as Mikey was wiping it off.
"What's this?"
"Oh, this is Dwayn!"
Mikey said as he turned the triangle rock to face Donnie. It had a little durpy smile.
"And this is Johnson!"
Mikey picked up the other rock from the bench and placed it onto the table. It was shaped slightly like a bean with a dent in the middle of its head. It had a very wide smile with dots for eyes at the ends of his cheeks.
"I think I like the looks of Johnson better than Dwayn."
Mikey said as he picked Johnson up. He then tried to pick Dwayn up but it rolled over onto his finger, squishing it against the table. Mikey pulled his hand away and put the wounded finger in his mouth.
"Ow! Ow! That's why I don't like Dwayn!"
Mikey said as he jumped around.
"Then you should have treated him nicer!"
Donnie said sarcastically. Mikey put his hand under his arm and started getting the lunch ingredients out.
Later that day, Leo got out a game of clue. The clues added up. Everyone knew it was Mr Green, and there was no hiding that.
"I think Mr Green did it with the rope in the kitchen."
Raph proceeded to prove Mikey wrong.
"We're just abusing Mr Green, arnt we."
"Absolutely."
Donnie snickered. He was about to figure it out. All he had to know was where the suspect did it. Leo's turn was right before Donnie's and he decided to take a gamble.
"Okay... I accuse Mr Green, with the rope in the hall!"
Leo picked up the cards in the envelope. Everyone waited with anticipation. He took a peak inside, then spread them across the game board, proving his accusation was right. Well shucks, Donnie was so close!
Soon, it was supper time. Mikey got the fire going again and placed tin foil over a rack. Then he shaped the beef Into round disks and plopped them on the tray over the fire. Sizzle sizzle sizzle, the ground beef went. Flipping them revealed a crispy brown bottom. When they were done, he took them off and placed them onto some buns, then handed them out to the others to put on whatever toppings they desired. Leo, being his fancy self, had teriyaki sauce and a pineapple on his. Mikey had cheese and mustard, raph had lots of ketchup on his, and last but not least, Donnie put cheese and a couple of pickle slices on his. Together they ate their dinner around a roaring fire.
After they were done, Donnie made his way to the restrooms. Walking near the edge of the road, he looked up to gaze at the stars. There where so many out in the wilderness! If it was one thing that kept him fascinated, it was the vast number of stars that filled the skies.
Donnie wasn't watching where he was going and ran into a road sign. Staggering back, his foot rolled over and he toppled into the ditch. He tumbled down to the bottom and stopped on his back. He laid there for a moment to regain his orientation.
"Ow! Okay, that hurt!"
Donnie slowly sat up, feeling his lower back detest. He rolled over onto his knees and felt his right hip burn in pain. He held his hands on his hip and took a few deep breaths, hoping to ease the ache a bit. Slowly he got back onto his feet and continued to the bathrooms.
He opened the door and slipped inside, still holding his side. He hobbled his way into a stall and sat down. Looking downwards, he could see that his hip was red hot with a large bruise, sprinkled with little scratches.
Back at camp, Leo was laughing his head off.
"Oh, Miguel! That's what you get for telling Dwayn you didn't like him!"
Mikey grumbled. It wasn't very funny to him. I mean, it was his finger that got squished. Raph looked over at Mikey.
"Ya hurt your finger? Come here, let Raph see it."
Raph said as Mikey held out his hand. Raph inspected it.
"Doesn't look too bad! Maybe put some ice on it."
Raph said with a smile. Just then Donnie had returned from the restrooms. Leo was the first to see him.
"Oh, hey Dee! Finally decided to come back?"
Leo chuckled. Donnie made no comment. He held his hand on his hip and limped over to the others. Leo creased his brow.
"Donnie?"
Raph and Mikey turned there head to look at him also. When Donnie got more into the light, they could see that pain was written on his face. His cheeks were shiny with streaks from tears. Raph quickly got up and rushed over to him.
"Hey, you okay? What happened?"
Raph asked. Hovering his hand next to him. Donnie leaned his head against Raphs chest. Raph wrapped his arm around Donnie and lifted Donnie's hand off his hip. Donnie hissed.
Tumblr media
"Ouch! Yeah, that looks pretty bad! What'd ya do to it?"
"... fell into a ditch."
"Yeeeup, That would do it."
Leo said as he took a closer look. Donnie flinched every time they even slightly touched it.
"Yeah, Raphs bringing ya somewhere to get that looked at!"
Raph said. He helped Donnie to the Taxi rocket, which is what they arrived in. Donnie sat down in the passenger seat while Raph took the wheel. He put it in reverse and slowly backed out. Mikey waved goodbye to them with a sad smile.
...
Good news was Donnie didn't have any broken bones or anything like that. It's just his hip had fallen out of place. So after seeing what they called a Chiropractor in the hidden city, Donnie could walk a bit better. They said he might have to come in again if it didn't improve. Donnie didn't like people touching him. But if it ment it would help get his hip fixed again, then he would allow it.
The instructions were to alternate a little ice and heat on his hip to help ease the pain. They also told him to avoid leaning or laying on hard surfaces. That ruled out sleeping on a mat in a tent. So Raph brought Donnie back to the lair for the night so he could sleep in his own bed.
What a day.
__________
Yeah, that could have gone better. Oop!
If you enjoyed that day, I understand. ;)
have a wonderful day! Lord bless you! ❤️

Lately I’ve been really craving greens. Just absolutely slamming salads, putting them in wraps, on my morning egg toast, wilted into my pasta. Mixed greens everywhere. Spinach and arugula my beloveds. Also tried watercress for the first time and found that delightful. Loving my leafy greens. Figured there must be something in them, a vitamin or other nutrient, that my body really needs, because I’ve been going through them like crazy.
Relatedly, I recently paid an in person visit to the grocery store. I usually order for pickup to save on time, but this day I wasn’t able to for some reason. I was buying canned clams to make my late grandpa’s clam chowder. It’s a traditional Christmas/New Year’s season meal for me, I had to have it.
And when I picked up my can of clams, I became entranced by how many different canned fishes there were on the shelves. Sometimes I buy tuna, but I’d never touched most of them. And I know I was shopping hungry and when you shop hungry everything sounds good, but on that day the canned fish sounded really good. I thought “Idk, maybe I could be the kind of person who likes canned sardines.”
Then I snapped out of it and realized how hungry I was, and thought how insane it is for me to crave unfamiliar canned fish when I hardly eat the familiar variety I do buy, and reassured myself I’d get a meal when I got home, and I walked away without ransacking the shelf of canned fish.
But then I did it again at the fish counter at the Asian market a week later. I stood there for a full ten minutes, studying the dozens of whole fish they had that I’d never tried before, thinking maybe this would be the day I’d finally try filleting a fish for the first time, before deciding there weren’t any in my price range that looked fresh enough (I am in the only triple landlocked state of course), and walking away with no fish.
Then I saw that post here about someone who slammed three cans of fish and then learned they have lots of nutrients that help with seasonal depression. And I remembered how I’ve been slamming so many salads. And I thought huh, maybe my body is trying to tell me something about fish.
Then one of my favorite food YouTubers uploaded a video all about how people eat canned fish around the world and I said OKAY! CLEARLY I NEED TO BUY THE FISH!
So when I ordered groceries yesterday to prepare for the coming blizzard, I ordered canned fish. Specifically, I got one can of sardines, one can of anchovies, and one can of smoked oysters.
Today I cracked open the can of sardines for lunch. I taste tested a small piece and it was delicious! So I toasted an English muffin, spread it with some cream cheese, topped it with some thin sliced red onion and my beloved mixed greens, and added some sardines on top. Drizzled the top with some of the sardine oil and had an open faced sandwich. It was messy, because the minute I tried to bite into it all my toppings fell off, but it was delicious.
So anyway, I guess I am the kind of person who enjoys canned sardines now.

Blog Post #5 - Simple Cooking
Well hello there! Ah, it seems you caught me a bit unprepared. I'm a bit weary at the moment, and my sleep schedule is messed up. I don't really the time or head to do some complicated recipe this time. But, fortunately, I've finally learned how to make some basic eggs on the stove.
Yeah, I can use the stove now! I'm not scared of burning down my kitchen! Only a little frightened of burning myself, but that's probably a healthy fear. Keeps me humble. And it's not like everything I make needs to be super fancy either. Which I why I'm satisfied with the stuff I made.
Tumblr media
First up, egg sandwich on a roll. Some ketchup on top. Simple, but functional. I came back from getting blood drawn at the doctor, and was craving an egg sandwich. Learned how to make it from my dad, and it was a fast process. Satisfying. Just melting butter in a pan, beating and adding a pair of eggs, and folding a bit of cheese in. And then, of course, shaping it and putting it on a roll.
Next morning, I was still feeling tired, but since my dad showed me how to do it, I decided to make some eggs myself.
Tumblr media
Didn't go quite as well as when I had help. Messed up a little bit when I was trying to flip the eggs, and forgot to fold the cheese in. Cut it in half with the spatula to see if it was cooked at the way through, and good news, it was! It was still edible, just didn't turn out exactly how I expected. Put some ketchup on the plate with it, a slice of bread with some apple butter spread on top, and that was breakfast. Again, simple but functional. I can see this becoming a daily routine in the future, when I find my own apartment and want to do something a little more complex than cereal in the morning.

I am by nature a taciturn man.  I find loud noises annoying, the burp of cars irritating and the barking of small dogs at times surprising.  I generally look to go to restaurants where this isn’t a problem.  But this was not the case here. Lunch was so loud that I couldn’t hear myself think.
While I do not usually hold my thoughts in particularly high esteem (so nothing much is lost) in this case the decibel level was so extreme that I found myself scrunching up my ears (and mouth) to try and minimize the impact.  Screwing up my mouth did impact the taste of things somewhat.
Then again, perhaps they have got something right as they seemed rather busy.  Well at least that’s what I am trying to give them the doubt of.  When we sat down we were told that the concept of the restaurant was that “the food came as it came”.  I.e. they had little kitchen control so couldn’t manage the timing of the food like a normal restaurant and that showed with the extreme tardiness of most of our dishes.  Although being somewhat inept was not something isolated just to the kitchen as the waiters managed to deliver the wrong food to our table three times.
This is the rather nice looking upstairs.  I was excited as I enjoy light filled venues.  Better for photos.  Unfortunately, we were exiled to the basement which was cramped, dark, stuffy and extremely loud.  Must have been something on my face.
Wildfarmed focaccia, rosemary.  As a starter, this was ok.  Nothing special though and it seemed somewhat arbitrary how many pieces of bread you got when you ordered.  Well, that is what I am using to justify what would otherwise be blatant discrimination as other tables got four servings of bread.
Fried ciccioli, apple mostarda.  Crunchy and fulsome.  Deep umami porky taste, this was rather nice if a little small.  Appeared 15 minutes after ordering.  This was to be a theme throughout the meal, delays like the tube.
Strozzapreti, brown crab cacio e pepe.  First the good, the pasta was nicely cooked al dante.  However, I wonder if more than a teaspoon of crab meat went into this dish, as it seems suspiciously crabless.  I would think that if you were stingy on the more expensive ingredients, the least you could do was try and provide enough grains to make up for that lack.
This was not the case as there was probably 50g of pasta spread around.  This rather meagre portion together with the lack of substance put me in a crabby mood.  Especially as this arrived 30 minutes after ordering.  Maybe they were out crab hunting.
Malloreddus.  Cooked a rather long time, the limp and too soft pasta was lifted up a bit by uninspired mince meat and cheese mix.  As you can see by the photo, this was also a minuscule portion.  We are talking about 1/4 of the usual size here.  Even smaller than the first dish.  Rather heavily over salted too.  The pasta (what little we had) was good though.  It arrived at the 40 minute mark in a haphazard manner much like the waiting service.
Nduja steamed mussels, cream, parsley.  Juicy, succulent with rich sauce.  There was a single rather small slice of fried bread at the bottom to soak up the sauce.  The miserly portions were becoming a bit much.  We had ordered this in the middle of our meal as we realised that the pasta portion sizes would leave us hungry (and grumpy) at the end.
Wood roasted plaice.  Decent but nothing special.  Could have done this myself as it seemed that it had just been roasted with minimal seasoning caveman style.  Then again, at this stage of the meal, I was just looking round for th
Crispy potatoes, salumi brown butter.  Crispy, tasty and fluffy inside.  These were decent but these took over an hour to come.  With that in mind, it wasn’t really worth the wait.
There is a method of giving appraisals, called the sandwich method.  You give good feedback, then improvement points and then finally end on a positive note.  It also has attained some rather less polite monikors which are better not mentioned in the context of food.  Applying this to this restaurant, the taste of some of the dishes was decent, the upstairs dining room had a rather pleasing atmosphere.  As for feedback, the food was rather minimal in portion, scrimping on elements that would have made their food somewhat decent.  To add insult to injury, the pricing was also rather high for what you got.
Trying to think of a positive point to end on, sandwich appraisal style, at least we got our food in the end.  Even if we did have to wait an inordinate amount of time.  To counter that, we also amused ourselves watching the hapless antics of the waiters as they delivered the wrong food to the wrong table (again).  Unfortunately, this entertainment was somewhat curtailed as I couldn’t hear the angry responses from just 2 metres away as it was almost too loud to think.
  A quiet eating 4/10.
Lunch (1.5 course equivalent) was GBP 27 per person excluding service.

July 15 to July 27- managed to flake out of doing my Thing A Day posts, and for considerably longer than I thought it’s been at that (feels like a week, it’s been more like two). Haven’t done much in that time other than laundry, and partially cleaning the upstairs bathroom. Need to get out of the doldrums and start doing more stuff. Also resume doing these posts because mostly they’ve been at least partially successful in reminding me to do more.
What I can remember of the last week or so below the cut.
July 19 - dug meat sauce out of the freezer and we had that and pasta. I’m surprised I can even remember back this far.
July 20 - starting prep for a colonoscopy next Monday, so made an easily digestible supper of pan-fried haddock and homemade hash browns. The last “real” meal I’ll have until early next week. Thankfully brother is going on a trip starting tomorrow so I only have to worry about cooking for myself over the weekend. He spent the afternoon making a big pot of sausage & steak chili to take along with him
July 21 - made a vat of stock, partially to use up some freezer burnt chicken (a half chicken and four thighs), but mostly to provide myself with well-cooked chicken and stock for this weekend. Brother forgot to pack his chili, crock pot full of it was sitting out on the counter when I went downstairs to turn off the heat under the stock pot, whoops. Chili is now in fridge.
For supper I made a cheese and chicken sandwich with mayo on white bread, and picked all the very-well-cooked chunks of carrot out of the stock pot to also eat
July 22 - ran two loads of laundry. Deboned the remainder of the chicken and froze most of it. Also divided up and froze the chili and most of the stock (which I’d strained yesterday and then chilled overnight so I could skim off and discard any fat). Cut up a beef roast into stewing beef and froze it in 1 lb amounts for future use.
For supper I cooked some white rice in stock with a little dried tarragon, and added some of the shredded chicken to it.
July 23 - the fun of clear liquids only day! I will not go into the gross details of what prep involves (google peglyte it if you’re curious). When I was finally able to ingest stuff in late evening, my supper was some lime jello made using grape-apple juice, and later a soup mug full of chicken stock.
July 24 - colonoscopy day. Brother drove me there and back. I am now four polyps down, and am being referred to their big polyps specialist to remove a fifth (the big ones apparently need different instrumentation to remove), which will mean re-doing prep at some point in the near future. I am SO not looking forward to that - the colonoscopy itself is no biggie but the prep sucks so very, very much.
Pretty tired since I had to get up at stupid o’clock to do final prep. I will be avoiding blue gatorade for some time to come, since that’s what I was mostly drinking during prep (aside from the Peglyte itself) and now find its flavour revolting as a result.
Had to gently reintroduce my digestive system to food after getting home, so supper was vanilla yogurt, applesauce, a banana, and a slice of white bread and cream cheese, spread out cautiously over the evening.
July 25 - cleaned upstairs bathroom. Brother off at a golfing stag party for someone, so I stayed easy on my digestive system and made tuna rice with green peas for supper. So nice to have a vegetable again after days without any.
July 26 - finally got around to using up the chayote I bought before leaving Toronto (they last forever and a day when refrigerated) and made chayote & chicken wraps using some of the cooked chicken from making stock.
July 27 - supper was chili and rice; some of that steak & sausage chili my brother had made. It was delicious.

Chapter 3
Tumblr media
Sol POV
Landing on the hard floor, I groan in pain; my body feels like it's falling apart. Sitting up slowly, I look up at Natasha nervously as she gets ready to continue our lesson. Since my magic isn't very skilled, Furry decided this so I could have a backup.
So far, I suck at this; I find it difficult to pick up on her teaching and fail to show any skill under physical combat. I was never really active; I was more focused on school, so I never made it a priority after a while.
It obviously shows as I stand slowly in pain before getting in position. Natasha directs me, "Part your feet and widen your stance."
Doing so, I feel my cheeks heat at the simple mistake. Besides the obvious lack of skill, I find it hard to focus; the whispers are back. I haven't told anyone, nervous about what they would do if I told them. It was clear, they didn't trust me, and I wasn't going to push them to do so.
The whispers are so loud that they would drown out her voice, leaving me to focus on her moments or read her lips. Seeing how tired I am, Natasha stands up straight, "That's enough training for today."
Nodding, I leave the room slowly, returning to my own room to take a well-deserved nap and shower. Entering, I strip my clothes and make my way to the bathroom. Taking a hot shower, I brush my wet hair, detangling it, and letting it soak in the warm liquid. Drying off, I put some lotion on my skin and oil on my hair before braiding my long thick curls. Slipping on my undergarments, a tank top, and some sweatpants, I slip into the covers.
Feeling myself relax slowly, I drift off to sleep.
Dream
"My sweet child, this world holds so much hate for us. We may part but just remember you're never alone."
The voice grows distant; opening my eyes, I find myself on a clear field of grass. Looking around, I find nothing, but looking up, I can't help but gasp. The sky is filled with stars that lit up the field.
"My sweet child."
Hearing the same motherly voice, I turn to find nothing.
"This world holds so much hate for us."
The stars begin to move, circulating at a fast pace; staring in awe, I feel a warmth engulf me.
"We may part, but just remember you're never alone."
Whispers engulf my ears; looking forward, I find many creatures surrounding me. They speak softly, whispering, but I can't understand them. Feeling a light shine behind me, I turn to see a man and woman standing before me. Shielding my eyes from the light, I feel the whispers grow louder, falling to my knees.
The warm voice grows louder and louder, "You're never alone, You're never alone."
Dream Over
Opening my eyes, I gasp, looking up at the ceiling; I look around the room slowly. Hearing nothing but silence, I start to calm down. Sitting up slowly, I sit still, thinking back on the dream that didn't seem to fade. I don't recall having dreams when I was younger, but I can't help but feel a sense of familiarity when I heard the warm voice.
Feeling my belly rumble, I quickly realize that I haven't eaten today. Checking the time, I see it's 1 in the morning. Getting out of bed, I stretch my sore limbs and make my way to the kitchen. Opening up the cabinet, I take out the bread; laying a paper towel on the countertop, I lay two pieces of bread before putting the bag away. Opening the fridge, I take out some honey mustard, turkey, cheese, and lettuce. Spreading the sauce on the bread, I lay the cheese, turkey, and lettuce before placing the other slice of bread on top. Putting everything away, I take a bite of my sandwich.
Satisfied, I lean against the countertop board out of my mind. Taking my sandwich on the go, I walk around the tower floor. Seeing a lab, my interest peaks; walking into the large room, I look around.
Looking at all the tech and items that scatter around the room, I can't help but smile. Stumbling on some parts, I get excited. Finishing my sandwich, I pull the stool over to me.
Plopping down, I start to put the scattered pieces together. Smiling, I find myself relaxed and at peace. I love building things; I fell in love with engineering at a young age and pursued it as I grew older. Now that I'm training, I doubt I have much time to enjoy my last month of school.
Losing track of time, I finish the once incomplete tech and smile at my handy work. Stretching, I head back to the kitchen and pick up a bottle of water. Heading to the training area, I take a couple of sips of water before setting it beside the punching bag.
Getting in the proper stance, I punch the bag; the bag barely moves. I mumble to myself, "Dammit. That sucked."
Trying to fix my stance, I start to hear the whispers again. Growing frustrated and annoyed by the voices, I groan.
"Allow me to help."
Hearing a rough feminine voice, I turn around to see a faded, tall woman. She had dark red skin, four golden eyes, and long black hair. Wearing golden armor, with an oddly shaped spear in hand, she looks down at me.
I back away a bit, shocked, "Who are you?"
She smiles a bit, "My name is Vetirus; I am the Goddess of Strength and Military. I watch over the planet Gornious."
My eyes widen at her words, wondering if I'm dreaming; she answers smoothly as if she read my mind.
"This is not a dream Young One; now allow me to help you."
Nodding slowly, I turn back to the punching back; following her directions, I grow nervous, afraid to take the punch.
"Remember, you are strong; you hold more power than you think, so never doubt yourself."
Taking a breath, I relax a bit, trusting her words.
"If you wish you can lift the mightiest mountain, all you have to do is hone your skill. Now strike."
Following her instructions, I feel a surge of confidence as I punch the bag resulting in it pushing back. Keeping up my momentum, she continues to instruct me, telling me to stop I smile at the sight of the worn down and abused bag.
Looking back at her, I smile, she returns it, "You're a fast learner, now the next lesson."
Instructing me, she teaches me different stances of combat and how to counter attacks. While she phased through me, that didn't stop her from demonstrating and me from following along. Hours passed as the sun comes up, drenched in sweat, and swore I smile at her.
"Thank you, Vetirus; I'll make sure to keep practicing so I can get better."
"You're welcome, Young One, until we meet again."
Fading away, I smile a bit; hearing the door open, I turn to see Natasha. She seems surprised, "Good Morning Sol, how long have you been here?"
I think for a moment, "A couple of hours, I was practicing."
"Ready to start training?"
I nod, taking a large gulp of water, standing in front of her, I get in position. She seemed a bit surprised but brushes it off. Coming towards me, I hold my own, remembering the Vetirus's words. I felt my scenes flare; everything feels like it's going in slow motion as I watch Natasha's movements. Picking up my speed, I feel light as a feather as I grab Natasha with ease and toss her across the room and into the wall.
Looking up, my eyes widen; I walk over to help her up and apologize profusely. She refuses; feeling my cheeks heat up in embarrassment, hearing the door open, I notice the others flood in. Shocked by the sight, I walk past them and make my way to my room.
Closing and locking the door behind me, I hop in the shower, hoping to relax my thoughts. I guess I went a bit overboard, but I didn't mean to! Placing my forehead on the shower wall, I mumble to myself, "I have a long way to go."
No POV
This morning was a weird morning for the Avengers, with Natasha in the medic room resting. The others wonder just how powerful Sol is. Spending some time with Pepper the night before, Tony steps into his workspace to continue modifying the blaster he left the evening before.
He is taken aback at the sight of the said blaster being put together. Confused, he tests it out to see the modification. Impressed and greatly satisfied with its weight and range, he wonders who finished it.
He knew only one person who could be smart enough to put it together; taking a long shot, he goes on the hunt for Bruce. Finding the scientist, he walks up to him, "Did you do this?"
Bruce looks at him confused, "Um, no."
He looks at Tony as if he's crazy before continuing his task. Confused, Tony return to his office, "Jarvis, pull up the security camera from last night."
"Yes, Mr. Stark."
Pulling up the footage, he watches as the video speeds up, "Slow it down."
Following his instructions, he watches with great interest as Sol finishes her sandwich and puts his blaster together. Shocked, as she walks away, he exits the video and looks through her file once more. Seeing her history with engineering, processing this, he sees that she's more than meets the eye.

I can't really speak for anyone else but myself, but I usually make typical breakfast food types of meals for whenever. I have no real obedience towards breakfast, lunch and dinner foods being served at such specific times. This is more for when you need energy to keep going, but don't have a lot to spare in order to get there.
A few favourites that I make whenever I have enough energy to actually operate the stove/oven/whatever (which I think is also what you're asking for), because otherwise I go for a simple tea + toasted grilled cheese sandwich:
French Toast without the sweet stuff. No honey, no cinnamon, no nothing. Just savoury. Basically crack eggs and milk into a separate plate, whisk those with a fork for a bit until you have a good consistency, take bread slices, dip to cover both sides, put in a pan with oil, fry until both sides are brown. 30 minutes tops based on how many you make, as the frying takes up most of your time; always a hit and very filling.
Popara, a dish that's most easily compared to porridge, really. Filling, also based on just putting milk, bread and salt in a pan on the stove. You can use slightly older bread for this as well, since you like... tear it up and engulf it into milk anyway. Requires a lot of direct attention, because cooking milk is like thatTM, but afterwards is heavenly. Super comfort food as well, even if you eat actual porridge when you're sick.
Homemade bread, actually. Kneading is great fun for me, most recipes are not too complicated, and it's more spread out work if that makes sense. You make the dough, you let it rise (however much time you want to allocate to it really, depending on the type of yeast you use and where you leave it to rise), you put it in a tray and into the oven. Afterwards, it's warm and filling enough to eat on its own, with whatever extra things you want on top of it. Basically extra steps sandwich. Very versatile, can also be modified to be garlic bread! Have not tried using chocolate chips in it, but I can see it working??? Somehow??? Yeah.
I hope this helps! I'm not sure if you were looking for something like this, or if they've already been mentioned (the bread is more baking actually), as none of these use fresh vegetables really. Don't really know how cheap these are either, given we always have a lot of these ingredients in the house due to my mom being diligent in stocking them up herself. But regardless, I hope this is still somewhat useful in some way!
Guys, I need your help.
What are some cheap and easy recipes that you guys make all the time? That don't take too much strength out of you?
Bonus point if they're autistic-friendly.
I find it harder and harder to cook lately which means all the fresh vegetables my mom buys go to waste. We're trying to find some dishes that i could cook that won't be a hard task for me and wouldn't waste any expensive products.
Appreciate if you could reblog :")

Food items I am never without.
I like to cook, so I’m constantly picking up oddball ingredients for Some Recipe I found on a blog (usually Smitten Kitchen). But there is some stuff I just ALWAYS keep in stock.
1. Thomas’ Everything Bagel Thins. I eat these for breakfast almost all the time when I’m at home (which is 4 days out of 7). I eat them with cream cheese, Everything Bagel seasoning from TJ’s, and a salted tomato slice. Perfection. They’re also good with some schmear of your choice and lunch meat. A full bagel is just too much starch for me, these are perfect.
Tumblr media
2. Pre-cooked bacon. I buy this gargantuan envelope from Costco. It lasts a few months and is well worth it. Two strips in a folded-over paper towel for 50 seconds and you’ve got nice crisp bacon, for eating, crumbling on a salad, putting in eggs, or in my case, making a wrap sandwich. It’s so much quicker, easier and neater than cooking up bacon from raw.
Tumblr media
3. Mission low-carb tortillas. I don’t particularly keep low-carb but these taste exactly like regular tortillas so why not? My go-to work-at-home-day lunch is a wrap made with these, lettuce, chicken strips (which I either cook up myself or get at Costo, they sell great packs of them), pickled red onions (which I make myself by the boatload and am never without), mayo and two strips of bacon. Sometimes I’ll make a quick-and-dirty fish taco with frozen fish sticks in the air fryer, some coleslaw or broccoli slaw mix (or just lettuce in a pinch), pickled red onions and chili sauce. They’re also good to make egg wraps.
Tumblr media
4. Frozen acai berry bowls with granola. Another Costco find. I tote one of these to work for morning breakfast and sometimes have them for a snack. They’re really good. One minute in the micro direct from frozen makes them still freezy but soft enough to stir up. This is the item that makes me want a chest freezer for my basement - they come in packs of six and I just don’t want to be at Costco every two weeks.
Tumblr media
4. Wasa crispbread. I eat this all the time. When I do avocado toast, it’s on these. A schmear of cashew spread, avocado, lemon olive oil and either salt, dill seasoning from TJ’s or Tajin.
Tumblr media
5. Crystal Light. This is what I drink 90% of the time (although Spindrift seltzer has been gaining ground of late). I don’t make up a pitcher of it. I mix up six packs each of lemonade and iced tea together to make Arnold Palmer Crystal Light, put it in a lil dispenser, and mix it up by the glass in these big 30 oz plastic hockey game souvenir tumblrs which are surprisingly sturdy and useful. I go through this so much that I order the packages by the dozen from Amazon on Subscribe & Save. It really helps me put down enough water every day.
Tumblr media
6. Taylor Farms chopped salad kits. These kits are the BOMB and they make a very satisfying, big salad. I usually add some chopped chicken and/or hard boiled egg to give it some protein. They have MANY flavors. Creamy Dill Pickle is my favorite.
Tumblr media
7. Mini snacking cucumbers. This one’s hard because they go bad fast. TJ’s has the best ones although the Costco ones are good too but only intermittenly available. I eat these like candy, dipped in Tajin (something else I am never without).

Animal Crossing Fish Dish Friday - #2
Brought to you by a marine biologist who's here for the nostalgia...
CLICK HERE FOR THE AC FISH EXPLAINED MASTERPOST!
Salmon Bagel Sandwich
Tumblr media
In ACNH: 1. Get the recipe by fishing up a Salmon. 2. Then cook on a stove with 2 Flour and 1 Salmon.
In Real Life: From New York, United States
Species of Choice: Atlantic Salmon traditionally, but now it can be any salmon species, including farmed species. It can be pricey, but there are many companies that sell smoked salmon in a package you can pick up at your grocery store.
Other Ingredients: -A bagel (whichever kind you prefer. Since the salmon has such a robust taste, I typically go with plain or poppy seed bagels) -Spreadable Cream Cheese -Red onions, capers, tomatoes (all optional, to taste)
There is no recipe here - cut the bagel in half, toast it if you like that, then spread the cream cheese on both sides and lay a few pieces of the smoked salmon on top. Put whatever other topping you like - most common are those mentioned above. Eat open, or you can be an animal and eat it like an actual sandwich. I'm not here to tell you what to do LMAO
This one made my husband and I giggle, because this is such an American thing, but more specifically, a 'Jewish in New York City' thing. Made us feel very seen, y'know?
Now, if you want to be perfectly authentic, we call this "Lox and Shmear", "lox" coming from a mix of proto-European and Scandinavian words that refer to salmon cured in saltwater brine to preserve it. Lots of cultures found their own ways to preserve meats and fish, such as smoking and salting. Many of those techniques follow us into the present day deli. "Schmear" is just referring to the cream cheese. The whole sandwich is a mish-mash of foods from all over the world, a perfect example of the "melting pot" that New York City is.
Tumblr media
By Helen Cook - originally posted to Flickr as this is a bagel, CC BY-SA 2.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=3877644
This is a very "big, strong taste" kind of meal, so if you like pickles, deli meats, and all sorts of cured and preserved things like that, I think you'd like lox. I'm actually not a fan of those other things, but I love lox. It was always a treat my father brought home for Sunday Bagel Breakfast. He'd get *just* five slices of lox from the deli, one slice for each family member and that was it. If you get it "fresh" from a deli, it can be a bit pricey, but it's so worth it. On rare occasions, I'll get lox for myself and make this or some version of it at home. Tastes like brine and nostalgia.
And there you have it. Bon appetite!

This is just me being me....
Tumblr media
Soooo! Levi wants to go shopping at the local farmers market. He wants to pick up some tasty food and maybe stop by a place on the way home to grab some plants for the garden.
Which tasty stalls do you stop by and what plants will you guys grab for your garden?
Tumblr media
He's eyeing those deals.
CAT! My darling! I must apologize to you (and others) for letting things sit in my inbox.
Tumblr media
Part of me just gets distracted, or forces myself to finish my work (not often lol) before interacting. Another part literally feels like I can't do justice to things people send me.... I'll work on that.
(I have no excuse for being so late in tag games except, distractions lol)
Anyway! Let me promote myself LOL I'll take a little inspiration from the Farmers Market fic I wrote a while ago. (this is also slightly self indulgent)
I think you'd have similar tastes and your favorites of course... Am I about to go overboard?
As far as fruit, I stand by Levi liking apples (I have a fic for that too hehe), and cherries, and fresh navel oranges. He's always got an apple or orange for lunch, or snacks on a bowl of cherries when they're in season. And loving apples as well, you're known to make tasty treats like tarts or muffins or crisps, and Levi always has his share.
You can't pass up the pineapple as well, or the blueberries and strawberries in season. Your freezer is full for smoothie ingredients. (Imma make a HC about everyones favorite fruit sometime)
Moving on to veggies, you stock up for salads and quick snacks. Bell peppers, cucumbers, carrots, zucchini, yes! All of it! How can you pass up a 1.5 pound organic zucchini for $1? You can't!
You like winter squash as well like butternut for soups or acorn for stuffing...or both for muffins or casseroles! (I have recipes!)
Also potatoes for baking or mashing yourself. And they last forever.
Okay but the zucchini? You have to visit the cheese stall and get asiago or mozzarella to shred on the zucchini and pop it in the oven for 15 minutes. SO GOOD. Also feta for salads. Cheese is the bulk of your dairy as it's coconut or almond milk in your fridge.
The tea stall! Loose leaf, baggies, give us the usual black or green tea. Chamomile or sage tea, cinnamon and honey lemon, and fruity flavors once in a while like pomegranate or pear mango. :D
Oh and dried fruit and nuts! Levis a weirdo and likes dried beets and such. He can have those. The hazelnuts too. But you both like raw almonds and the nutty granola blend for days you have oatmeal and want a crunch. Sometimes you just use it as a cereal base and throw in the blueberries! Dried fruit like mango or papaya wind up in your bag too. And those apple slices!
We can't forget the bread! You have to watch it here more than anywhere. Rye or pumpernickel loafs, small rolls of sesame seed or garlic herb. Sometimes they're for breakfast and sometimes for lunch.
How about your honey and fresh jams and peanut/almond butters? Gotta have something to put between those sandwiches! Apricot preserves, orange marmalade, classic strawberry jam. (Jam spreads better then jelly!)
You know I don't know where you're going to put all this stuff LOL
Sometimes you also grab eggs, and look at the non food items like the crafty handmade woodwork or coasters (no more coasters!) or fresh bar soap like lavender!
BTW if anyone is waiting for me to throw meats in there, you're going to have to do it yourself haha sorry
Oh wait but maybe you splurge on pasta? There's so many varieties! Maybe you go for lemon garlic linguini, or sun dried tomato fettuccine. And pasta sauce made with organic tomatoes, garlic, onion, basil and olive oil. YUM!
And if you go early and don't eat breakfast, you'll get it there. Strawberry mango smoothies, waffles, guava or chocolate empanadas?? (You eat healthy all the time, it's okay to not once in a while!)
Maybe you get lunch to go like woodfire pizza, or veggie wraps and rice and beans. Yes, you have lots of food, but after lugging it around and putting it away who wants to cook? You need to take it easy for a minute!
As far as plants, more zucchini, you can never have enough. Tomatoes and whatever lettuce variety is your favorite, and fresh herbs like basil, rosemary and parsley.
Fruits are a little more tricky I think, but a fig plant can go indoors or outdoors, and fresh figs are a nice treat! Lemons and limes are a good option too, and you can use them for some flavored water or to keep cut apples fresh :D Maybe if there's room blueberries too, or plums. (and apples)
So, what do you think? You going to the market with Levi? What are YOU getting??

Part 2
The Alpha had left for his house soon after, but not without saving his number in her phone and checking the security of her house.
It was just afternoon the next day when she saw her car being parked in her driveway by the Alpha. A tow-truck was parked in the street.
“All good. Tires are new and I checked the whole engine.”, he rumbled handing over her keys.
“Thank you-”, she smiled, only now realizing she did not even know his name.
“Happy.”, he frowned in a way that showed he had just realized the same thing.
“I wanted to make some cake. Do you want some?”, she asked tensely. Overnight Millie had accepted her fate and planned to make the best out of her situation. First thing was to get to know the Alpha more.
“Either lemon or chocolate.”, she added.
“I take what I get.”, he answered with a smile tucking at his lips. His animal was pleased his chosen Mate wanted to care for him.
“Thank you for bringing my car over. I could have come and got it myself.”
“Had to do a test-ride either way. I will come over after work.”, he shrugged and waved goodbye.
In the end, she decided to make a chocolate cake, one of her favorites, and couldn´t resist eating a piece when it was still warm.
For dinner, she would eat leftovers from the day prior and Millie was just finished when the sound of an approaching motorcycle reached her ears.
“Here. I made a chocolate-cake. This is your half. I hope you like it.”, she smiled upon opening the door, “Do you want to come in?”
“No. Have to go back to the clubhouse. Thanks for the cake.”, and with that, he was gone again with the cake secured in one of his saddle-bags.
-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.-..-.--..-
The night was quiet and as much as she felt refreshed, that much she felt alone. She had awoken alone.
During the day, she caught herself checking if the Alpha had returned to his house. But he would not return for another four days.
And with every passing day, she felt more and more restless.
On the fourth day, she could not think straight. Three times she had to restart the commission she was working on. During lunch, she nearly cut off her finger trying to cook.
Well, takeout it is. There is no way I will risk losing a digit over food.
Deciding to order a large pizza tonno, some salad, and garlic bread she dialed the Pizzeria and readied the table.
Leftovers would be breakfast for the next day.
Nice food´s here!
Taking the money plus tip out of her wallet, she almost danced to the door.
“Thank you, you can kee-”, she beamed, “-p the rest. ...Happy?”
There in front of her stood the Alpha next door with her order on hand and a pointy look on her face.
“You are back… P-please, come in. How have you been? Other than angry I mean.”
“Told you to call if you need anything.”, he rumbled.
“Yes. My apologies. I did not think that included takeout as well.”, the Omega mumbled immediately looking to the floor, “I won´t do it again.”
A deep sigh left his chest.
“Where do you want the food?”
“Living-room please.”, she whispered making room for him to pass, only to follow at once.
His warm scent spread through her nose, lungs, and veins, clearing her foggy head in just minutes. She felt relieved and a contempt  Purr left her chest.
A purr that did not get unnoticed by the Alpha.
“Missed me?”, he chuckled interested and Millie answered even before he had finished his question.
“Yes!”, she blushed, “I mean. It was strange. Nothing felt right. I could not think straight. Had to restart my commission three times today. Couldn´t sleep well either.”
“Mhm, sounds like with-drawl to me.”
“Maybe. Never had one.”, she mused,” But for now I am hungry. Do you want to stay and join me? I ordered enough for three days or two people.”
“Sure.”
“Then take a seat. We can watch TV if you like. Or talk.”
“TV´s fine.”
“Alright. I have some coke, sprite, or beer.”, she offered from the kitchen.
“Beer.”
“Thought as much. I bought a twelve-pack with different types.”, she explained offering two different bottles for him to chose. A stout and a light. He took the stout.
“Good?”
“Yes.”
“Happy to hear. What do you want to watch?”
“Don´t care.”, he shrugged.
“Me neither. Comedy?”
“Alright.”
And so they ate and watched a movie together.
In the end, Millie had leaned against his side and started to drift off into a slumber.
“You want me to leave?”, the Alpha asked when he noticed her state, even though his animal did not want to do so. Neither did he want the Omega to feel uneasy.
But it was already too late for the question, for she was already too deep in the dream world. He moved her, trying to wake her up, but nothing happened.
-..--..--..--..--..--..--..--..--..--..--..--..--..--.
The next time she awoke her pillow was moving and making a sound.
Must have left the TV on.
“Awake?”
That is not the TV
Sitting up with a start, she almost fell of the coach if it wasn´t for the Alpha´s arm around her back.
“I am sorry.”, she squeaked and he laughed.
“For someone who did not want me to let me go yesterday, you sure can´t get away fast enough today.”
His exclamation got her eyes huge in shock and cheeks red in embarrassment.
“I am so sorry. I hope I did not keep you from something important.”
“Just work.”, he grumbled, “Already took care of it.”
 “I will call them and apologize.”, she spoke already looking for her phone.
“Omega, stop.”, he growled, “I said I already took care of it! So leave it!”
His tone and the unknown situation made her freeze in submission, “I am sorry. How long was I asleep?”
“Sixteen hours.”, he mumbled, “Couldn´t wake you up. Decided to let you sleep. Looked like you needed it.”
“I- I could not sleep well the last nights. Guess you being here helped. Thank you.”
“Is fine. Tonight will be long enough.”, he hummed.
“Oh. Today is Friday, right?”
“Yes.”
“Then I think I will head out to the supermarket. Get some chips, popcorn, some soda and maybe chocolate. I am in the mood for a long movie-night.”
Can´t sleep either way probably.
“What movies?”
“Tolkien-verse or Harry Potter. Don´t know yet. Whatever I am in the mood in tonight for. You can join me later if you want.”
“Can´t we have guests at the clubhouse.”, he almost sighed.
“Alright. Can I go shopping on my own or do you want to join me?”, Millie asked not wanting to go against his will, again.
“I -”, he started but was interrupted by the ringing of his phone,” -Yeah? Not your concern where I am. Took the day off. Listen Tragger… What do you want?- Fine. Be there in two hours. -then tell that Gemma as well. - I don´t care!”, he growled.
“You have to go?”
“Yes, go shopping. Call if anything happens.”, Happy ordered.
“Sure. I can keep you updated. Send you a message when I am at the market, on my way back, and home.”, Millie stated,” Do you need anything ?”
“M´fine.”, he rumbled.
“I can make you something to eat before you need to go. I can only offer you cereal and toast at the moment though.”, she offered, “And I should have some coffee as well.”
 “Thank you.”, the Alpha nodded in approval and she got up from her seat with a warm feeling, while feeling cold at the same time.
“Toast or cereal?”
“Toast´s fine.”
“Peanut-butter, cheese or sausage? Should be able to get some scrambled eggs with bacon ready as well if you like.”, she called out while leaning half into her refrigerator and squealed when he suddenly answered from right behind her.
“Coffee and toast is fine.”, he stated before laughing,” Sorry.”
“F-fine. I just did not hear you moving.”, she breathed with a hammering heart in her chest, “So coffee and toast it is.”
-..--..--.--..--..--..--..--.--..--.
The man of Meyham was not happy about being forced to help prepare the clubhouse for the visiting charter. That was the prospect's and croweaters' job after all. But seeing that he had stored a few of his weapons and ´toys´ in one of the spare rooms, he cleaned that room without any fuss.
“So, where have you been this morning?”, Tragger asked with an amusing smirk,” Does not sound like you calling in work. What were you doing? Or should I ask: Who were you doing?”
“Shut it Tragger! You are too noisy for your good.”
“I say that shy neighbor of yours. The one you went over and beyond to get the car ready.”, he continued, ducking out of the way in case the other Aloha would throw the knife he held in his hands.
“I said shut it!”, Happy growled instead,” And keep it shut!”
“So I am right. You were with your Omega neighbor. Got a bit possessive over her? Hey, not the first Alpha who does. Though you might let the others know. Heard a few of the others talk about that shy Omega whose tires got sliced.
“Mrpf.”
“Just telling ya. Gotta go though… Gemma asked for my help a while back and I want to piss her off as much as I want to piss off you.”
Happy was still thinking about what his brothers had just told him when his phone informed him about an incoming message.
* I am at the Store*, he read and smiled.
* Good. Be careful*, he answered.
* Sure, will do!*
The next message came nearly one and a half hours later: * On my way home now! Got you some more beer*
* Thank you.*
“Got a good message, brother?”, the Scotsman cheered beside him.
“And what if?”
“Ah, I don´t want to get on yer bad side. Ya just seem different since yer rut.”
“m´fine.”
“If you´re sure. I am fine with that. Just checking in.”
“Mrmh. Bobby in charge of the BBQ again?”, he asked instead of answering the Beta.
“Yes, Gemma prepared the meat with Tara´s help. Are you hungry?”, Chibs laughed.
“Yes.”
“Just ask one of the girls to fix ya a sandwich. They missed ya and were pretty broken when Tig returned claiming you were in rut and did not need their help.”
Happy just shrugged hearing that. He could not care less about their hurt feelings. His animal was only interested in one female now and felt disgusted by the thought of eating something a croweater had prepared.
Their scents had turned foul in his nose since his last rut.
“maybe.”, he nodded and left for the kitchen to see if he could find something in the fridge. He was followed by his brother´s eyes who shook his head in amusement.
He knew why his brother acted that way, he had once acted like that as well.
“Mr. Happy. What can I do for you?”, Chucky asked once the former had entered the kitchen.
“Looking for food. Is there any?”
“Yes. There are some bagels left. I will prepare you some.”
“Thanks.”
Happy had just gotten handed the bagel by Chucky, when the last-most important message- arrived on his phone.
*Back home. Just putting away the groceries. And then trying to choose a movie.*
*Let me know what you chose.*
*Why? Want to join me later? But sure. I just hope I can stay awake. *
* maybe*, he chuckled when answering her. Maybe once his brothers are dead-ass drunk, he can leave. But that would mean he had to stay sober as well. At least sober enough to ride.
The evening promised to become fun.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.--.-.-.-.-.
In the end, Millie decided to watch the Tolkien Hexalogy with fresh popcorn, soda, and self-made chocolate-covered fruits.
 She had just finished the second Hobbit-movie and was preparing a huge portion of fries with salad when an uneasy feeling crept up her spine.
That was weird- Why am I feeling like this all of the sudden?
Unbeknownst to her did that have to do with an ego-hurt Alpha spying on her house, deciding if it was safe for him to enter.
No one had dared to deny him before and then that bitch had caused him to be dominated by another alpha. Like he was a weak Beta or even an Omega.
He knew the other Alpha had been around the house a lot, his scent lingered in the air when he had scoped it out earlier, so, smart as he was, he covered his scent with some cheap perfume.
 He wanted revenge for the beat-up he received, though he knew he would not be able to beat the Alpha, he would be able to beat that Omega. Like that, he would get his revenge on both of them.
The Alpha had even brought a jammer to keep her from calling for aid.
.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Feeling the uneasiness to grow with every passing second, Millie walked around her house to see if the windows and doors were closed and locked. They were. But the feeling did not leave.
I should call Happy, right? He said to call him if something feels off. Right?
 Taking her phone, she realized immediately there was no service.
Strange! Still have a cable one in the kitchen though. Hope he still picks up though.
He indeed did after a few seconds that felt like minutes, but he did not say a word when he did.
“Happy? It´s me, Millie. I have this strange feeling and now my cell won´t work. You told me to call when something is up- I think. Sorry if I am interrupting your party”, she explained, nervously playing with the phone-cable.
“Stay in the kitchen and keep the doors locked!”, the Alpha finally answered and at once ended the call.
“Okay.”, she breathed her answer nonetheless and did what he had said.
Standing there, she waited for the rumble of a motorcycle to reach her ears, and only five minutes later the sound of several closed in.

sometimes the fact that you’re friends with kim taehyung genuinely confuses you
not just because you’re complete opposites in terms of literally everything but also because-
well… that’s pretty much it.
the two of you are like... a peanut butter and pickle sandwich!
when you first look at it you might think that combination is a little funky anD could possibly lead to destroying a toilet BUT when you actually give it a try you realise it’s actually pretty great!
…you get the point
so when taehyung told you that he wanted to spend his birthday at a wine tasting event, you really weren’t that surprised because of couRse he wants to spend his birthday drinking wine and socialising with other wine snobs instead of doing something actually fun like… literally anything else in the entire world
you’ve always prided yourself on being a good friend so if wine tasting was what taehyung wanted, then wine tasting was what he’d get!
but, uh
to be perfectly honest
you’re not really a wine person
you’re more of a margarita person
you just don’t see the appeal of drinking fermented grapes!!!!
why drink bitter grape juice when you can drink sugary lime goodness??
why drink something that’s been ageing in a barrel for like fifteen years when you can drink something that nevER ages due to the insane amount of additives in the premix formulas??
“wowiE, check out that spread!” you look over at the round table in the centre of the room as you and tae trickle in with the rest of the participants of the event “is that fondue?? holy shit.”
“hopefully you don’t burn the roof of your mouth again.” taehyung snorts before the smile falters on his face, “…maybe you should stay away from the fondue altogether.”
the two of you take your seats (there are fancy name cards for everyone!!) and you smooth your skirt out before smiling politely at a couple of the other people at the table
so far, the rest of the people here are… to put it as nicely as possible… more mature than you thought they’d be
but then again this is a wine-tasting seminar so it would be a huge surprise to see other twenty-something year olds hanging out here
you feel out of place but taehyung is just soaking it all up
he’s happily chatting away with the older gentleman seated next to him
sometimes you tell taehyung that you feel like he’s a fifty-five year old man trapped in the body of a twenty-four year old
and he never fights back because he knows it’s true
you let out a breath as you take a look around the room
god
you’re going to be stuck here for a good two hours drinking wine
maybe you can sneak away to the hotel bar or something
taehyung probably wouldn’t notice, right?
but would that make you a bad friend?? abandoning him here when you said this was a thing you were going to do with him??
“you know, i see myself as a wine enthusiast. the more i drink, the more enthusiastic i become!” taehyung laughs heartily and the other couples join him
christ almighty
you’re tempted to ask him which wine-mom facebook page it was that he stole that joke from
“does anyone have the time? i think it might be wine o’ clock soon…”
you let out a quiet groan as you feel your soul literally float out of your body
okay well
that’s your cue
you are ouTTa here
just as you’re about to get up off your chair, you hear the door slam shut and-
“good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen! welcome to today’s wine-tasting event. my name is hoseok, and i’m going to be your host…”
you shift in your seat as you follow the host with your eyes
you feel your heart skip a beat when he spins around to face the table
oh
he’s handsome
like vERY handsome
perfectly tousled dark brown hair
bright twinkly eyes
his nose is literally perfect!!! perfectly slanted and perfectly pointed!!!
and his smile!!!!! it’s shaped like a heart!!!!! how precious!!!!
the thin gold chain hanging around his neck winks at you under the lights and you swallow thickly
it seems as though you’ve found a reason to stay at this event
as hoseok begins to explain how the structure of the event is going to pan out, you find yourself paying extra attention to the way his lips curve around certain words
“as you’ve probably already noticed, there’s an abundance of different dishes in front of you that’ll go great with some of the wine you’ll be tasting today… over here, a roasted fruit and cheese platter… a smoky three cheese fondue with some freshly baked french baguette slices on the side… popcorn with sesame glazed pistachios…” he slowly makes his way around the table as he introduces each of the dishes and you feel your heart drumming away as he gets closer and closer to you, “dark chocolate sea salt cashews… baked brie with figs and walnuts…”
and you think it might be a nervous habit or something but whenever he pauses his tongue pokes out quickly to lick over his bottom lip
whatever it is it’s cuTE
as he passes you and tae you catch a whiff of his cologne and for some reason you instinctively cross your legs
and when hoseok looks directly at you your thighs automatically squeeze together and-
oh god
okAY you need to relax
why don’t you just stare at the fondue or something??
ya
you’ll do that
you immediately look down at the three cheese fondue and you begin counting how many chunks of baguettes there are on the plate sitting next to it to keep you distracted
it’s a shame you’re staring down this fondue instead of paying attention to hoseok because you don’t notice the way his eyes scan over you before he’s quickly looking over at someone else
“i believe it’s essential to expectorate when you’re tasting a wide variety of wines, but i’m well aware that some people might not be comfortable with spitting into cups and pouring that into a dump bucket, so-“ you look back up at hoseok after you finish counting the baguette chunks (you counted twenty six but some are hidden under others) “the choice to spit or swallow is entirely up to you.”
you immediately choke (on nothing??? apparently??? goD you’re lame) and reach over to grab your glass of water to keep yourself from bursting into giggles
tae gives you a couple pats on the back before rolling his eyes playfully
you find toilet humour pretty funny so he’s not surprised that you chokEd over the spitting or swallowing thing
the corner of hoseok’s mouth twitches in a smirk when he hears you whisper: “in my humble opinion, spitters are quitters-“ to your friend before you’re pressing your lips together and holding back a grin
he looks at your name tag quickly
y/n y/l/n
how cute
“so you’re going to want to hold the glass up and examine the wine against the light,” hoseok explains, “what you’re looking for are colour and clarity.”
you let out a little sigh as you prop your cheek up on your fist while the other hand holds up your glass on wine
you look down at the information sheet on the table
it’s basically just a list of the wines that you’re trying today and you’re still on number one
it’s been like fifteen minutes!!!
there are seven wines you have to go through!!!
this hoseok guy is hot but gee whiZ he really takes his time with things
you could probably explain the wine better and faster than him!!
the colour of the wine is red!
…and you don’t know what clarity means so you’re just going to say that the clarity of the wine is also red!
“now stick your nose into the glass and give that a good whiff. what do you smell?” hoseok pauses as he looks around the table
“i’m getting notes of… i’m thinking strawberry…?”
“yes, so am i!”
“is it strawberry or cherry? i feel like it’s easy to mix those two up.”
“there’s something nutty… i’m picking up something nutty but i’m not quite sure…”
“it smells like wine to me.” you blurt out and tae elbows you when you get a couple irritated glances from your fellow wine buddies
what???
were you wronG??
you lean over to get closer to tae, “when are we drinking??” you whisper as hoseok continues to babble on about the different notes that you should be picking up on
“hush.” tae scowls before nudging you back
goD
this is torture!!!
“go ahead and give that a taste.”
aH
there we go
you tilt your head back as you down the wine in one go
down the ol’ hatchet!
also
another reason as to why you’d be a much better sommelier than hoseok: his serving sizes are tiny!!!! how are you supposed to properly taste and appreciate the wine when he gave each of you like a tiny baby shot of it??
“now, this wine pairs particularly well with the dark chocolate sea salt cashews, so feel free to try that combination.”
you perk up at the mention of eating
noW we’re talking
>:)
so
since the two of you are here for him, taehyung didn’t think that he’d have to worry too much about you
because today is his day! he should be able to enjoy his fancy wine tasting event! he wants to chat about how the creamy brie cheese compliments this rich white wine! he wants to learn about how different types of glasses can change the way you taste a certain type of wine!!
but NO
he doesn’t check up on you for good half an hour and thIS is what he gets
you’re wasted
zooted!!!
completely gone!!!!
you’re slumping back against your chair with a dopey little smile on your face while trying to balance a little chunk of camembert cheese on the tip of your pointer finger
“y/n, you weren’t- you weren’t supposed to drink all of the wine, you blockhead-“ taehyung whispers as he plucks the cheese off your finger before using his napkin to wipe your hands clean
“well, i believe in noT being wasteful, sooOo i think you might be in the wrong here, mr. look-at-all-the-wine-left-in-my-glasses-“
“alright, so this next one is a merlot,” hoseok explains as he makes his way around the table to fill everyone’s glasses up, “in terms of flavour, it’s definitely more fruit-driven and has a more cherry-like aftertaste. it has a smoother finish compared to the cabernet sauvignon that we tried earlier…”
taehyung whacks the side of your leg when hoseok gets closer to the two of and you immediately straighten up in your seat
“wine me up, monsieur.” you hold your glass up for hoseok and offer him a bright smile
he chuckles and plucks the glass from your hand before setting it back down on the table
taehyung gives you a warning look before reaching up slowly and gesturing to keep your lips zipped
you raise your hands in defence before zipping your lips and throwing the key away anD blinking hard (it was supposed to be a wink)
taehyung raises a brow
you can’t zip your lips anD lock your lips that doesn’t make any sen-
you know what
it’s fine
as long as you don’t say anything else for the remainder of this session it’ll be fine
“everyone has a little in their glass? good. go ahead and give that a taste.” hoseok clears his throat before turning to put the bottle down
you take a small sip of it before tilting your head back and-
gurlrulrulrurlurlurrgurlugr-
“what the hell are you doing?!” tae hisses as he gives your arm a hard pinch
you choke and give your chest a couple hard pats before grimacing
“god, that did noT go down smoothly.” you whisper loudly and shake your head, “i’m giving that one a sssaaad face.” you slur as you doodle a little frowny face next to the name
taehyung’s eyes widen as he looks at what you did to your information sheet
where did you even find a pen????
‘not good very bitter if ass was a flavour then this would be ass juice’
‘supposed to be complimentary with aged cheddar but i think it would go better with a kraft single’
and then in thiS corner there are several attempts of you trying to spell sauvignon blanc and they’re all scribbled out
‘sawvinion bank. solveingrown blank. sawnananananananananananananananana batman!!!!’
oh dear god
you slap tae’s hand away before scribbling something new down
‘tasted better after gargling.’
oh dear GOD
“everything alright over there?” hoseok chirps and taehyung gives him a sheepish smile before nodding quickly
“all good! sorry, we’re all good.”
“alright, does anyone have any questions for me before we move on to-”
“oOh, i have a question!! i have one, i have one, pick me-“ you wiggle your arm around and hoseok nods in your direction
“yes, y/n?”
“i think, i think that we should order, um, we should, we should order a pizza. because these water crackers or whatever you call them are nOT doing it for me, like, look at this-“ you pick one up before popping it into your mouth and chewing obnoxiously, “fho dhry. fho DRY-” you let your jaw drop and taehyung suppresses a groan of mortification when what looks like straight up saND falls out of your mouth and sprinkles right into your wine glass
“oh, god. please stop, please stop-“ taehyung winces and quickly reaches over to snap your mouth shut
you slap tae’s hand away before swallowing your bite
“so, thoughts on this pissszzzaa?” you slur as you reach for another water cracker (tae moves the plate away before you get a chance to grab one) “is pepperoni okay with everyone? yes? yes? good? nice? yum? hm?” you look around the table while nodding enthusiastically, “barbara, my love, i noticed your earrings are from chanel which can only mean you’re loaded so because of tHAT i think you should be the one to pay for this extra large, cheese-stuffed crust pepperoni-
“okay! i think you need a time out-“ taehyung chuckles and gets up before grabbing you by the arm and yanking you up off your chair
“time out??” you gawk as you stumble over your feet, “i’m not three years old, taehyung, i- oOh, barbara, dahling, if we order within the next five minutes, we can get two cans of coke on the HOUSE-!“
sLam
“-you’re going to sit here and do nothing, got it?” taehyung scolds as he helps you get settled on the ground next to the door of the room
“i gotta say, i think all this wine is making you a little catty-“ you purr before playfully batting at taehyung’s face
luckily he moves before you get the chance to scratch his cheek
tae pinches the bridge of his nose in frustration and shakes his head, “y/n, you know you’re one of my best friends and that i care a lot about you, and i appreciate you being here with me but- today was supposed to be my day! my day! so can you please just sit here and behave? please?”
even in your drunken haze you can see that taehyung is upset with you and that’s enough to sober you up a little bit
you didn’t mean to upset him :-(
you were just trying to do this wine tasting thing right!!!!! and you weRe technically tasting the wine.,. just maybe a little too much of it.,,.
you nod slowly and reach up to zip your mouth shut
“good. the water dispenser is right there, so stay hydrated.” he gets up off the ground and dusts his knees off, “and we can order a pizza after this is over, okay?”
you nod again and offer him a meek little smile
you spend the next twenty minutes staring at the wall in silence
occasionally you looked around to see if anything besides nothING was happening
you did get up once to get yourself a little paper cone of water
and then you put the cone on the top of your head like a little party hat
but theN you realised that putting a white paper cone on top of your head was just you giving yourself a dunce cap which… was actually pretty fitting in this situation
at the twenty-eight minute mark the door opens quietly and you immediately perk up because you automatically assume it’s tae
“it’s y/n, right?”
“oh, uh-“ your eyes widen as hoseok slides down the wall to plop himself down right next to you “yes? yeah. i’m- yes, i’m y/n.”
“i noticed you were a fan of the dark chocolate covered cashews, so-“ he holds out a little napkin filled with the cashews before handing it over to you, “everyone in there is currently mingling with each other, so i figured i’d come out here and keep you company.”
you blink owlishly
he’s being pretty friendly considering the fact that the two of you are complete strangers
almost too friendly
…you like that :-)
because you totally like being overly-friendly with strangers too!!!!
in fact, that’s how you and tae became friends!!
but enough about tae because heLLo attractive young man sitting right next to you-
“ah, well, i’ve been staring at that patchy blotch of paint on the wall for-“ you pause to check the time on your phone, “coming up to be twenty-five minutes now, so you’re not missing out on that much.” you murmur as you unwrap the napkin and pick up a cashew before popping it into your mouth
“i, um, actually…” hoseok trails off before laughing lightly, “i wanted to come out here to talk to you about earlier-“
“oh, god. you don’t have to say anything, i know i was acting insane-“ you shake your head before snorting, “trust me, you won’T be seeing me again after the event ends-“
“but i do want to see you again.”
you freeze for a second before turning to look at him
you wait for another second to go by juSt to make sure he’s not playing around with you
“…say that again?”
“i mean… i thought you were hilarious!” he grins, “i know the alcohol was definitely a contributing factor, but i took a glance at your information sheet and-“ he pauses to pull the folded up piece of paper out of his shirt pocket, “-i don’t think i’ve ever heard anyone describe the aftertaste of a sémillon like: ‘you know lemon-scented febreze? now imagine what it’d taste like if you mixed sprayed lemon-scented febreze into a glass of bleach, because that’s what this tastes like’.” hoseok looks over at you with wide eyes, “you made this wine-tasting session way more fun than i thought it was going to be!!”
huh!
what a pleasant surprise!!!
cute boy thinks you’re funny!!!!!!
“i’m glad to hear that me humiliating myself was entertaining for you!” you joke before rolling your eyes playfully,“the only reason why i’m here is because my friend is a self-proclaimed wine snob.”
“oh, please. everyone here is a self-proclaimed wine snob.” hoseok rolls his eyes playfully, “no offence to your friend, of course.”
“oh, no. all the offence, please.” you snort and pick up another cashew, “he kicked me out to punish me but i didn’t even wanna be in there in the first place so this is actually super great.”
“ooh, i think i just felt my heart split in half…” hoseok winces dramatically as he presses a hand to his chest
you can’t help but giggle before you look away nervously
now that you’re not drunk off your ass, you feel the butterflies returning to your tummy
you barely know this guy but you’re pretty sure you’re already 500% in love with him
…what wine is he going to pick out at your guys’ wedding?
oOp
okay time to reel it in a little
“-i know this might seem a little out of the blue, but… would you wanna go out for drinks sometime… with- with me…?” hoseok clears his throat
wait what
you look back at hoseok so quickly that your head probably could’ve popped off your neck
he glances away before letting out a nervous chuckle, “i just… yeah, can i take you out?”
your eyes widen slightly
oh!!
you certainly weren’t expecting for him to ask you out but you’re definitely not complaining
“feel free to say no, i just- ah, i don’t know, i don’t usually get a lot of people my age coming to these things, and i feel like you-“
“i’d love to go out for drinks sometime… definitely with you.“ you tease as you nudge his arm gently
hoseok’s cheeks flush before he beams at you
“great! i know a place that makes really good cocktails- say, do you like margaritas?”
your lips part in a gawk
“do i like- do you wanna get married??” you scoff as you sit up straight, “i love margaritas!”
“great! i promise i won’t make you drink anything that tastes like-“ hoseok pauses to look at your sheet again, “‘mouldy grapes after they’ve been trampled on by someone with athlete’s foot’…?”
you flash him a sheepish smile
yeah
you don’t think you’re ever going to be a wine person.

Chapter Three: Tea for Two
AN: Honestly, I should be asleep as I post this chapter, but if I delay this any longer I think I might rip my hair out (not really). If there are any mistakes, I’m sorry, it’s 3am and I’m bleary eyed. Anyways, thank you to everyone who has supported this story! I really didn’t think anyone would enjoy it but myself.
Chapter Four: A Frightful Dinner
Summary: What should’ve been a fun and simple dinner between Livia and Booker takes a dark turn when she discovers a startling secret about him.
Having a cup of tea with each other became a weekly ritual for Booker and I.
And from tea, sometimes we swap over to coffee, where I discovered that Booker makes the best coffee known to man. He always made my cup of coffee sweet, rich, creamy, and added a dash of cinnamon to top it off. It's so perfect, I'll never look at coffee served in cafes the same anymore. Regardless of the beverage we were drinking, Booker and I always made sure to bring food for our little get-togethers. When its my turn to bring the food, I usually buy pastries like eclairs, macrons, pain au chocolat, etc. I couldn't help myself, I've got quite the sweet tooth which Booker commented on clearly amused once he noticed the trend. While Booker opted to bring sandwiches and quiches, which were a lot healthier than my choices.
At first, our little “tea parties”, as I liked to call them always took place in my apartment, but as the weeks passed and Booker grew more and more comfortable with me, he invited me to his apartment for the first time for a cup of coffee. To my surprise, when I entered Booker's apartment, it was not shrouded in darkness like I previously believed, the space was actually well lit.
Unless, he had the lights on and blinds opened for my benefit.
But you know what, I wasn't going to complain about it. The mere fact that Booker felt he could trust me by letting me into his personal space brought me indescribable joy. Each week over tea or coffee, a new subject was discussed. One week it's about books, the next about traveling, the following about daily life, and so on. Truly, it was a very gratifying experience to see how our relationship had blossomed. Not too long ago it felt like I had to pull teeth to get Booker to speak to me or I had to decipher his body language to determine if he was even comfortable speaking to me.
But now, conversations between us flowed naturally.
However, I have noticed that other things have changed between Booker and I. Well, at least for me it has. As of late, I would feel my heart start racing and beat like thunder whenever I would spend time with him. I would find myself studying Booker's features instead of listening to what was coming out his mouth. My eyes would move from down his nose, across his cheeks, around his jaw line, and at his lips. Heat would always flush my face and down to my neck when Booker called my name to snap me out of my daydream.
I couldn't help it, from the jump I said the man was handsome, but I didn't think I would catch feelings for him.
It certainly didn't help that our hands would innocently brush against each other when doing simple tasks, for example, doing the dishes together. Or the way he would lightly place his hand on my mid-back to usher me into his apartment after we've came back from the market. I always felt like I was set aflame every time Booker and I made contact with each other. I began to wonder if Booker had caught onto my growing feelings for him, he hadn't said anything or treated me differently. But, at times I would feel Booker's gaze linger on me when he was supposed to be reading, like the time when I was detangling my hair or when I was drawing in my sketchpad.
There's also the fact that Booker brought me flowers one day when we were having tea. They were roses, yellow roses to be specific. He told me the roses reminded him of me because of their warmth. And don't get me wrong, I damn near gushed over the beautiful, sun-colored bouquet of roses because I hadn't received such a gift in god knows when, but I also had mixed feelings about the flowers. Yellow roses symbolize friendship and I was left wondering one single question.
Did Booker just politely friend zone me?
~~~x~~~
"When I invited you over for dinner I was hoping you would actually help me make it," Booker quipped, looking over his shoulder.
I chuckled a little, "Hmm," I hummed, as popped the last bit of cracker that had fromage fort spread across it. "It seemed like you had everything under control," I replied, a smile on my face.
If someone had told me that by the end of this day I would be having dinner with Booker, I would tell them they were crazy, hell I might even laughed at them. Having a cup of tea with Booker is one thing, but to eat dinner together, it's different, more intimate. When Booker invited me over, I had just finished putting away groceries and was about to make dinner myself, but in stepped Booker. It was quite adorable when he asked to have dinner with him, in my opinion. He was clearly nervous, he stumbled over his words a few times. Whether it was because Booker is still a slightly reserved man, which meant doing this was uncharted territory for him or it was the possibility that he also had feelings for me was unclear.
I hoped for the latter.
"Do I now?" Booker asked, turning around and folding his arms across his chest.
My grin widened, "Undoubtedly," I said, with a laugh.
Feeling a bit of cheese on the corner of my mouth, I took my thumb and wiped it off before placing the speck of cheese onto my lips. Booker's eyes darted down to my lips and I had to force myself to keep a straight face as I felt a slight increase in my heart beat from Booker’s lingering gaze.
"Maybe it was just involuntary," I thought.
I picked up my wine glass, "But since you're begging me so much, I guess I have no choice but to help," I joked, standing up from the kitchen chair and taking a sip of the dry wine.
Booker faced the counter again, "Your kindness knows no bounds Livia," he deadpanned, resuming his work on slicing the mushrooms up.
I walked up to him and placed my hand on the back of shoulder, at first his body tensed before his muscles relaxed.
"What would you like me to do Chef Booker?" I questioned, my lips curving into a smile.
He rolled his eyes at the title, but still a smirk made its way onto his face, "Can you chop the broccoli please?" he asked, motioning to the vegetable to the side of him.
"Gladly," I replied, removing my hand from him and placing my glass down.
I moved over to the sink and turned the faucet on, pumping soap into my hands I placed them underneath the warm water, giving them a good scrub. Drying my hands on a towel placed on the sink, I took my place next to Booker and began chopping the stalk of broccoli.
"In the month and a half that I've known you, I've noticed a difference in you,” I stated, still cutting the broccoli up.
Booker glanced over at me, "Like what?" he asked curiously, dumping the mushrooms into a pan on the stove.
"Well for one, you don't look so haggard," I commented, placing my knife down and picking up the cutting board.
"Haggard?" Booker repeated, breathing out a laugh. "Wow, Livia," he chuckled, taking the board from my hands and tipping the broccoli into in the pan as well.
"Wait, let me finish!" I said, laughing myself now. "There's a glow to your skin. I can sense a newfound joy in you, an emotion that you believed would never return," I continued, and from the corner of my eyes I saw Booker still. "And your eyes," I breathed, shaking my head. "Your eyes always conveyed to me of a man who lives in silent misery. Your eyes would say what your mouth would not," I explained, my voice taking on a softer tone. "But now, I can see a small shine, a little glimmer twinkling in your eyes," I finished, turning my head slightly to look at Booker, who seemed to be stock still.
Silence swept over the small room, apart from the sounds of the vegetables in the pan sizzling and the wind outside softly rustling the colorful leaves on the trees. My heart began hammering in my chest, the elongated silence from Booker made me nervous. God, I hope I didn't say anything that offended him.
I cleared my throat and brushed the bangs of my hair away from eyes, "I don't know, maybe I've been reading too many of those poems you suggested," I guessed, chuckling while shaking my head.
A warm, rough hand covered the top of mine and my head snapped up to look at Booker.
"I guess, it's kind of hard to remain gloomy when you have a neighbor that is the personification of a ray of sunshine, annoyingly persistent as she may be," Booker teased, looking down at me with sincereness in his eyes and a small smile gracing his lips.
I playful bumped his arm with my own, "You love it though," I teased back, sticking my chin out.
"I do," he agreed softly, stroking his thumb back and forth across my hand.
The gesture sent shivers down my spine and goosebumps raised on my arms. Booker's exquisite blue eyes were locked with my rich brown orbs. The proximity between us was making it hard to breathe, all Booker had to do was lean his head down a little further and—let me not get ahead of myself.
"More wine?" I squeaked out, trying to regain my breath subtlety.
Booker smirked, almost as if he knew the effect he had on me, "I would love some," he answered, giving my hand a squeeze before removing it to work on the garlic bulbs.
I turned around, a grin on my face as I held my hand against my chest. I made my way back over to kitchen table, a slight spring in my step, to where a bottle of unopened wine was located. Grabbing the corkscrew, I jammed it into the top of the bottle and began twisting the knob a few times until the familiar and gratifying loud pop of a wine bottle being uncorked echoed throughout the room. It startled me, but at the same time a satisfied smile grew on my face until I heard Booker swear loudly behind me. Immediately, I placed the bottle down and turned around to see little red droplets dripping from Booker's fingers and onto the floor.
"Oh my god Booker!" I exclaimed, rushing to his side.
"It's nothing Livia!" he insisted, cradling his bloody hand as he moved towards the sink.
"Nothing?" I repeated, disbelief clear in my face. I moved in front of him and grabbed his wrist to show him the severity of his wound. "Booker, your palm is split wide open!" I pointed out, my tone turning frantic "We need to go to the hospital!" I stated, releasing his wrist and turning around to grab the towel from the sink.
"Livia-"
"Here!" I began, spinning back around to face Booker. "Use the towel to...." I instructed, but slowly trailed off as my eyes widened at what I was witnessing.
My breath began to quicken, becoming shallow as I watched the skin on Booker's palm draw itself back together. The towel fell limply from my hand and onto the floor with a soft thud. Slowly, I raised my hand and covered my mouth in horror as I watched tendon by tendon mend itself, and at that moment I felt my stomach lurch and a strong wave of nausea hit, forcing me to place a hand on my stomach in order to calm it down. The deep laceration on Booker's palm inexplicably became a mere scratch before the scratch itself simply disappeared.
As if Booker never injured himself in the first place.
"What the hell!" I whispered, my eyes still glued to Booker's his hand. The image of his palm knitting itself back together flashed in my mind, making me slightly gag. I lifted my eyes to Booker's who's face had gone ashen and was contorted with unease. "What the hell was that?" I asked, my voice once again not above a whisper, but the panic laced through the question couldn't be clearer.
"Livia, I can explain," Booker stated slowly, reaching his bloody hand out to me and taking a small step in my direction.
My eyes slightly widened again and I recoiled backwards, my back running into the cupboard. I tightly gripped the counter as I watched Booker's shoulders deflate like a balloon losing air, hurt was evident in his eyes at my reaction to him and a sad frown formed on his face. The silence was deafening in Booker's apartment, the only thing I could hear was the blood pounding in my ears. I slid my body along the cupboard, reaching down to snatch my coat from the chair that was next to it.
"I-I need t-to go," I announced shakily, avoiding Booker's stare.
Hurriedly, I moved to the door and made haste of the lock on the door, nearly yanking the door of its hinges as I left.
"Livia, wait!" Booker called, and I thought I heard movement behind me. "Please!" He pleaded.
My hands fumbled around in my coat pocket for my keys, but finally managing to grab them. I nearly sprinted towards my door even though it was only a short distance away. My hands trembled as I inserted the key into my door and jerked the key hard, twisting the doorknob and pushing my door open. I entered my apartment straight away and as I went to shut the door I paused, glancing at the apartment door across from me. Out of nowhere, the sound of glass shattering across the hall made me jump back, causing the door to slam shut louder than I intended it to. I slid the deadbolt lock into place and did the same with the bottom lock, leaning my forehead against the door, closing my eyes.
I flipped around with my back against the door, slowly I slid down the door and covered my face with my hands.
"What the fuck did I just see unfold in Booker's apartment?"
The White Crest Job || Morgan & Felix
TIMING: Current
PARTIES: @streetharmacist & @mor-beck-more-problems
SUMMARY: Morgan and Felix take a field trip to rescue a very important item from an auction house on Erin’s behalf.
CONTAINS: gun use, violence
Stupidity got people killed. Talking got people killed. Now both in the same suit? They did a bang up job with that kinda thing. As Felix waited and tapped his feet, he had to attribute that to why he had a cooler full of brain on a weeknight. One man’s stupidity was another’s advantage and the fae kept that in mind. There was that telltale jittering under his skin, that sensation before a job and the wonderment at whether or not it would be pulled off. After everything, he felt more than ready to tag in. Erin had gone through enough and she could use a night off of crime. As it worked out, he could use a night of crime. Desperately. With a little luck and pixie dust, he and Morgan might be able to come bearing good news that would make the whole thing sting a little less.
At the sight of Morgan approaching, he stood up from the rickety bench and adjusted his suit tie. It was a special night at the auction house and he wore some of his sharpest attire. He smiled at her and waved. “It’s real nice to see you, Morgan,” he greeted. “You excited?” They were about to walk into the mouth of some sort of beast but as long as they had their eye on the prize, it should be fine. He reached for the cooler and offered it to her. “I got something for ya. One of Roy’s finest. I wanna say the old sport worked at the auction house.” His grin grew. “Not anymore though.”
Morgan could swear her body was vibrating with the need to do something straightforward and easy. Or at least easier than the past few weeks had been. Sure, the primary criminal activity of her life had been charging people for rocks she transmuted from dirt and trash, but Morgan was nothing if not a good student, and being a walking dead girl leant itself to certain advantages. Mushrooms could strike, ghosts could rise from the deep, worlds could fall apart, but Morgan’s limbs would always grow back shiny and limber no matter how many times they snapped off. And this errand, at least, was for a good cause. Morgan rolled up the sleeves of her turtleneck and beamed at the fae waiting for her. “Sorry I’m late, I wasn’t sure what the dress code was for our clandestine date,” she said with a smirk. “Me? Oh I’m ready to dance. It’s been a rough fall, and Erin’s one of my best friends. It’s kinda nice, having something to do that makes an easy kind of sense. All the steps are clear. No back-and-forth, no second guessing.”
She shook her worries back to the far side of her mind and turned to the cooler. “Mother of earth,” she chuckled. “Dinner and dancing? If this is how you treat your friends, Bea’s a luckier gal than I thought.” Flipping open the lid, she fished out the sliced brain, wrapped in sandwich paper like a happy meal burger. Tentatively, hoping that the old whoever had at least been a nice gangster, she took a bite. “Is this to help me blend in?” She asked between bites. “Because I’ll have you know I’ve killed a woman with just my own sparkling personality bouncing around my head.” She took another bite, moaning with pleasure. “Not that I’m complaining, obviously. Think this’ll magically download everything he knew about this place?”
Felix beamed as much as he safely could in return. He intended to save that old song and dance for a special occasion. One maybe an hour or so away, he thought. They would just have to see how the night went. As it was, he was more than interested in seeing an auction hall go off the deep end. The job that he and Morgan had on their docket took precedence over seeing a few strangers lose it for a bit. He smiled at her and was inclined to agree. He did as much with a tip of his head. It did make an easy sort of sense, didn’t it? Easy as snapping a neck. They just needed to get their hands on it first. “Right there with you, my friend. See, I think this’ll be good for us. All of us.” A brow lifted. “I think we got a real nice night ahead of us. As for everybody else in there?” He shrugged.
At the mention of Bea, an easy smile slid into place and his skin warmed. Buzzed even. He didn’t want to think of the night going any way but up for them. He had a gal to get home to. He was sure Morgan could relate. “You know, I’d say we’re all pretty lucky,” he said as he framed his chin with his thumb and index finger. “You, me, Bea, and Deirdre!” As much as he knew that they could spend the rest of the night waxing poetic about their loves, they had some skulls to crack. Speaking of...It didn’t bother him when Morgan took to the brain. Over the years he had developed an iron stomach, of all things. Blood and brain, guts and bone. It all sorta mushed together. He struck a match and lit a thin cigarette. He considered dust briefly earlier in the evening. The more he thought about it, the more he was convinced he wouldn’t need it. Smoke billowed out of his mouth and curled around his glasses as he laughed. “Oh hell, I believe you,” he said with a smile. “I’m not too familiar with how the ol’ brain works, especially in this sorta case, but I think it’ll be a nice thing to have on our side. Y’know, the whole knowing is half the battle thing?” He offered Morgan the crook of his elbow. “Ready to paint this whole gig red?”
“I guess we are lucky, huh,” Morgan mused, smiling into her next bite. Stars above, it tasted so good, she had to ask herself why she didn’t do this more often. She groaned shamelessly as the rich, meaty flavor spread over her tongue. “Felix, you’re making me miss my Texas burgers,” she said, smirking with her mouth half full. “Tell you the truth, I could use a lucky night. I know you’re not supposed to let the bastards get you down, but stars, it’s...fucking hard sometimes. But!” She scarfed down the last of her brain. Nothing felt immediately off the way the urge to listen to a hockey game that night at Erin’s had felt off, but she did feel a little more verve and fire in her bones as she got to her feet. She took Felix’s arm and grinned up at him. “Felix, pal, I’m ready to dance like there’s no tomorrow. I just got one question for ya.” She quirked up a brow at him, nodding to his car and the joint they were about to bust open. “What kinda guns you got stashed in your car? I’m feelin’ like blowing some fireworks.”
“That’s why I’m a big advocate of getting back at the bastards!” Felix said cheerily. Whether it was through bloody footprints or a bullet in the head, things had a way of coming back around. “Nothing really perks up the spirit like some old fashioned vengeance and looking good while doing it. But this is business tonight. The rest can come later.” Heck, would it. The amount of receipts they owed people had started to stack itself high. “Oh, Morgan, I’m so glad you asked. I think you’ll like it,” he said as he looked at her. The tone of her voice, the fire behind it, danced a little differently and he couldn’t help but grin. It reminded him of an old friend. Tommy Toblerone, a fella that had earned his name from the rather unorthodox and sweet ways he could take a person out. “I had to leave the Tommys at home since I don’t think we wanna get the toys taken away early and all.” After he tugged on a pair of black leather gloves as a safety precaution, he pulled out a .38 Smith & Wesson and a .357 Magnum. Without a second thought, he handed her the magnum revolver and a handful of cartridges. “I think you’ll like that one,” he said smoothly as he slid the .38 into the inside pocket of his suit jacket. “I’m more about slicing and dicing myself but I got this one just in case. Old faithful! Been awhile since she’s seen action but I’m feeling good about tonight. You?”
Morgan loaded the revolver. She hated guns, didn’t know the first thing about them except how to hide from one thanks to all the safety videos she’d had to watch for all her shitty jobs. But her hands spun the cylinder and admired the shine of the metal in the night like it was something familiar. Something powerful, even cozy. She loaded the chambers, then popped the beauty back into place. She stroked the frame, smiling at the moon’s reflection. “I feel like a shiny new penny,” she said.
Millie Mayfield didn’t like being interrupted from her movie time, but Roy wasn’t dicking around when he said please, honey, so instead of watching pretty teenagers get cut up by a chainsaw, Millie was getting her boots dirty slipping in to take some delicate goods off the hands of the less deserving. If she could only do it without the B-Squad posse, she might even have herself a good night. “Hey, Mac?” She asked, twirling her bat as she approached the guy behind her. It wasn’t the same as her cheerleader batons, but it killed the time in a pinch. “Can you run and get me some McDonald’s? One of the really sad, dried up specials. You can tell when their tag says FIVE YEARS! With a party hat sticker. Pretty please with cream cheese?”
Mac would, because Roy also said she was in charge, and he knew she’d bust his kneecaps into confetti if he didn’t.
Something rattled at the end of the warehouse. Company. Roy hadn’t mentioned anything about it being a party, but she was an adaptable girl. Millie sauntered into the warehouse, bat held out and ready to strike. She signaled to Mac to get out his gun. “It’s not nice to gate crash,” she called inside, her voice almost sing-song. “If you came to play with the big kids, let’s play.”
As fun as it would have been to crack a couple jokes at the expense of the rich, Felix and Morgan didn’t have that luxury. They had a docket to make a couple checkmarks on. As it went, his patience was thin to nonexistent. Maybe it was because of the mushrooms or maybe it was because things had a way of not going their way lately. He checked over his knives and the gun in his hand. Even clicked his heels for the knife he kept there. All in tip-top shape. The knives were slid back into place. The back of the auction house had a padlock on it but that didn’t matter much as he jimmied it open with a grin flashed Morgan’s way. The chain rattled as the fae toed the door open. From where they stood, there seemed to be plenty of shadows.
Perfect. That good feeling fluttered in his chest again. Even when a voice called out. As a pair of steps entered the auction house’s backroom. Even better. If there were ever a night to have a tussle, it would be this one. He slipped off to the left. Slipped into darkness.
“Do me a favor and let us know when they show up, yeah?” He took his switchblade in hand. “Much appreciated.”
Millie had two choices. Go for the goods, or go for the party crashers. Roy said the merchandise would be small, easy to miss. Not exactly something you could nab with some sleeze pulling your hair. Besides, Millie never turned her back on a fight. “Real funny, Tricky Dicky. Maybe you should run back home to the kiddie p--” A gunshot burned through the air and into her chest. “Ow!” Millie looked down at the scorch mark in her dress. “That was genuine vintage!” She shrieked.
There was still smoke at the end of Morgan’s revolver when she realized her mistake. This dame wasn’t the kind you pinned down with a bum shoulder or a busted kneecap. For all her grousing about the clothes, there wasn’t even a lick of blood coming out of the wound. It had been a rookie mistake, thinking she’d go down easy. This dame wasn’t human anymore than Morgan was. “Sorry, sweet cheeks. I don’t make exceptions for people who get in my way. Equal rights and all that,” she said, stepping into the light. She risked a glance at Felix, who was visible only by his switchblade. She hoped he was watching too, that he saw her little nod to go for the gold. She could keep one little dame busy for him. “You might wanna dance back to your go-go party before this gets worse. It’d be a shame to knock such a pretty block off.”
Millie was already marching forward, bat ready. “Try me, bitch.”
Nothing like the sound of a revolver and the smell of spent gunpowder to remind Felix of home. Let alone a heist! The fae tipped his blade Morgan’s way before he started to climb over boxes and through shadows. What they were after was small, easily concealed. But if he had heard right, it packed one hell of a punch. A bullet that would be real damn nice for them to have in the chamber. While Morgan dealt with the dame with the bat, he’d get what they needed. The light of a waning moon overhead bled through the smallest tear in the roof. Caught on something that shone with iridescence. He sure as heck hoped it was the something they were after. There wasn’t any hesitance to the way he moved toward it, hard-charging if there ever was any.
A hard charge into a forearm that caught him right across the throat. He puffed out a few breaths as he skittered back and recuperated enough to bring him to his feet, back into the shadows. His throat smarted as he looked at what had caught him. A forked tongue flicked out of a fanged mouth. Their head swiveled to follow him as Felix moved. They had a knife too. One with a jagged sort of blade.
“I can smell you, shadow.”
Morgan had seen too much violence since coming to White Crest to mistake the sound of a fight. The smirk on her lips flickered as she turned. “Felix—?”
“You got way bigger problems than that, Dollface,” the same sneered. She swung her bat, hard enough to knock Morgan off her balance.
Her head felt like it was off kilter, but that was just her skull bones bending around the wound. It was right again in seconds and Morgan leveled her revolver again to fire off another round, this one landing square into the girl’s eye. Faintly, she knew she hated guns. The sound, the way they looked, how they went from zero to disaster with just a bang. But something strange in her liked it too. She readied another shot, but the dame was already charging her, anger blazing out of her now ruined face. She was hell in high heels and creamsicle orange. Hell and payback. The bullet hadn’t even moved her an inch. Morgan threw away her gun, useless, and tried to run. A hand caught her by the hair by the hair and dragged her back.
“Zombie, huh? This is gonna be fun.”
“Morgan, ya alright?” Felix’s eyes were ahead but his ears were behind him. His expression wavered from one of confidence to one of concern. He liked Morgan. A great deal. And they had people to get home to, let alone a fucking point to get across. Any wavering halted. When he moved, the lamia’s eyes followed him. They placed themselves as a body between the box full of iridescence and the lampade itching to get his hands on it. Felix slipped his jacket off and wadded it up. It could be said that Felix was a planner but as he rocked off his heels and went forward, not much thought went into it. The lamia struck out, their knife cutting easy through the fabric. The tip nicked Felix’s palm as he let go and danced back. The lamia’s tongue flicked out again as he stepped through the shadows.
The fae hit his heel against the ground hard enough to spring the knife from his shoe before he lunged forward with a kick. The lamia was larger than him, muscle packed tight together, and he felt it when the knife in his shoe clipped through the lamia’s suit pants to lodge itself in. It wasn’t the strongest of knives and it broke off as Felix pulled his foot back. The lamia jabbed at him again with the knife and cut a line of black, ink blood across his chest. Felix hissed then grinned as he rolled up the sleeves of his dress shirt, switchblade still in hand.
“Alright, alright,” he muttered out with a laugh. “So much for working this out, huh?”
The next time, it was the lamia that moved to meet him in the dark. Knives out.
Morgan caught the dame’s hands and twirled in her grasp, getting enough space to knee her in the stomach, get a new grip on her arms, and throw her into a stack of crates. She didn’t run this time, but picked up her opponent and slam her down again. Maybe if she’d been some lousy human, it would’ve broken her in a couple of pieces, but this girl wasn’t the type to roll over easy. She pulled out a knife from the front of her shirt. It wasn’t big enough to lob off her head, not quickly anyway, but her eyes burned red and Morgan realized she was staring down a bonafide vampire.
They tousled, slinging blows with all their strength and all the ruthlessness of two women desperate for a win. No more maybe this times. Morgan was walking out of here with her prize for Erin. With something done the right way. Crates shattered under Morgan as the dame threw her again. Glass and powder spilled onto the floor. Morgan didn’t care, those goods weren’t her problem. She grabbed some of the broken wood and swung it hard enough to crack the damn thing to bits. When she was through, she had a nice stake sized piece, sharp and jagged, as far as the stuff went.
The vampire dame snarled and leapt out of her reach.
“What’s the matter, doll?” Morgan asked. “I thought we were gonna dance.” If nothing else, she sure as hell hoped Felix found this magic blade soon.
It had been a hot minute since Felix had been in a knife fight. After everything that had happened, he supposed it was only a matter of time. As he weaved through the shadows of the warehouse, the lamia was there with him. His glamour had dropped the more that black wisps of blood smoked out of his dress shirt. Knife fights were ugly, feral affairs. He couldn’t help but grin as he ducked back from the lamia’s swipe. Only for him to come to a stop as a painful tug spread pain along the top of his skull. The lamia’s hand was wrapped around the main beam of his right antler, close to the fork. Felix reared his head back and flipped the knife in his hand to stab at the lamia’s hand. The blade nicked skin but it wasn’t much. The lamia who had him locked in place kicked at the side of his leg and brought him down hard to his knees.
His eyes widened and flashed white as the lamia brought the serrated edge of his knife to the bone. Felix frantically shook his head violently and tried to rear back. Dig his heels into the ground to force himself back into the dark. It didn’t matter. The lamia would find him and he wasn’t going anywhere.
The lamia knew what he was doing. Maybe it hadn’t been the first time for them. But it had been the first time for Felix. Breakage. The crack deafened him. Dulled his senses to anything other than pain and pure, undiluted rage. As the antler separated from him, the lamia stepped back from the force of it. Felix was on them in an instant as he threw his full weight into him. The antler clattered from their grasp and the fae took it in hand. Didn’t second guess when he started to plunge it through the lamia’s scales. The ones that lined their neck, their chest, their organs. All the soft parts that made the rest crumble.
He didn’t realize he was yelling until the lamia went still underneath him and inhuman blood splashed his chest. His chest heaved as he sat back, eyes wide and wild. His throat hurt. His head hurt. Momentarily, he forgot what they were there for until his eyes locked on the box and he brought himself to stand. Antler still in hand, he went to it and looked back to where he could hear the sound of Morgan’s own scuffle.
“Morgan,” he rasped out. “Fucking kill her, huh?”
They were bounding through the warehouse, chasing each other like filthy animals. Somewhere between running around crates, the dame found Morgan’s gun and had herself a nice time driving the rest of the bullets into her body. The steam was still on the muzzle when the wounds healed up, but the rounds must’ve sounded like pennies from heaven all the same. She heard the shouting and stopped to turn. It was the wrong move. The dame’s bat smashed against her skull, hard enough to send sparks through her vision.
“Maybe get the fucking knife, huh?” Morgan called back.
She still had a grip on the stake, but the vampire was hanging around her like a goddamn flying monkey. Morgan lost count of how many surfaces she bashed her into befor she let go and slid off. It wasn’t every day you regretted bringing a gun to a knife fight, but that was White Crest for you. Morgan pinned the dame down and decked her with her fist. Felix hadn’t sounded so hot when he called out to her. They needed to end this quickly. The stake came up--and splintered in the vampire’s grip. Morgan didn't even see her arms come up to knock her down, just the view of those damn go-go boots as she ran away. Good riddance.
“That’s gonna be a ‘negative’ on that kill,” she groaned, easing up to her feet. “But she’s out of our hair. Maybe some son of a gun hunter will have a better night. You find it yet?”
“If not,” Felix started as he approached the box. “I’m sure I can hire somebody. Plenty of fucking nobodies that wouldn’t mind getting a tooth or two from her.”
He tried to ignore the splinter ache in his head. Even as he tilted it, it felt lighter. Unbalanced. Uneven. His forehead felt wet and as he touched his fingertips to it, pulled them back, he saw more bloody wisps. His skin felt cold, his nerves even more so. The fae looked at Morgan with dim half-moon, a fist clenched around his broken antler. The knife sat unbothered atop a heap of fabric. With the exception of its glass blade, it was otherwise unexceptional. Bullets and blades for another kind of destruction. What the fuck else was new.
“I did. You alright?” The question was clipped with an aimless agitation. No, it wasn’t aimless. He knew exactly who he was pissed at. He gestured loosely at the knife and leered at it. “That’s the fucking thing right there. It better be worth it after all this shit.”
Morgan shuffled over to Felix, giving a whistle when she saw how worse for where he was. “You had a worse time than me. Guess Roy got the same tip we did, and wanted to get ahead of the game. And now that dame knows who Erin’s friends are. She’s gonna blab to Roy and give him the scoop.” Morgan spat on the ground, shaking her head. She was too small to see from the ground, but one hop onto one of the few crates that wasn’t busted and she could see what all the fuss was about.
The hilt wasn’t anything special, but the glass was a beaut, thick enough that you could spit on one end and not tell from the other, and serrated, brought to a deadly point. Morgan couldn’t imagine you made something like this in any old forge, but what did she know about this stuff. “In the right hands, it’ll stick Roy in the ground for good, and that ain’t nothing,” she said. “Come on, compadre. I’m feelin’ like a cigar. This ol’ brain is a doozie, and you need to get the edge off before that ride home.”
Felix made a low sound of affirmation. “It’s not every day you break an antler,” he intoned. It truly fucking wasn’t and his lip curled. “That sounds about par for the course in this town, huh? Word travels fast.” He glanced at the dead body of the lamia. Whether or not they had been close to Roy, he didn’t care. A dead body was a message all the same. He shrugged loosely as he looked back at Morgan. The night was still fun in its own way, breakage and bullets be damned. “Lucky us.”
“Think I’ll need more than a cigar but I ain’t about to turn that down,” he said with a glance to Morgan as he pieced his human glamour back together. His glasses were somewhere but he wasn’t in the mood to look for them. He wasn’t in the mood for much other than that cigar she offered. “Roy will be in the ground before he fucking knows it and y’know, I like the sound of that very much. Let’s get out of here. We did good and ought to treat ourselves to something nice.”
With the knife in their possession, they could leave the warehouse and good riddance to that. It’d be nice to burn it down, he thought. Burn it all down. His anger was loud and alive in his head. His hate. As they made to leave, one thought crossed his mind. Just how tired he was of only walking White Crest’s streets. He wanted to fucking own them.
Forgotten stories 1:Baby angel (Mortal instruments)
Jace stared at his birth father, mouth open in shock. the older blond was all grins however as he held up a pair of short-all's and a diaper shirt on a coat hanger with one hand, and was holding a pack of special adult diapers with the other. His father had been talking about how much he wanted to be back in jace's life and Jace himself was more then open for that (lord knew he could use the break from demon slaying) but then his dad had suggested starting from the beginning, at which point he had pulled out the embarrassing garments. Jace couldn't help but notice, even in his shock that the diapers in question were call lil stinkers, and the pack had a boy not much older then himself all scrunchie face and clearly dumping a load in the back of his nursery print diapers..with the pack boasting about it's heavy duty capacity and it's new and improved smell blockers "Sooo..what do you think?" Stephen asked, as it had been a full 20 seconds now since his son had said anything. "..Are you on crack!?" "..Not the answer i was hoping for, but we can work with it.. No sweetie, daddy isn't on any drug but the love you bring into his life!" "..No really, what are you on? should i be checking the trash for needles?" "Sweetie your starting to hurt daddies feelings." "You wanna put me back in diapers and dress me up like a baby!" "Well no, thats not true." "..YOU HAVE SHORTALLS AND DIAPERS! How is that NOT a baby!?" "because I'ma make you a toddler. totally different." ".. I'm checking the trash cans." "enough, come on, I really think that you letting me dress you up will help us bond. give me ONE day, just one!" stephen pleaded and set the items down, bringing his hands together to beg. "Ngggh..One day.. and I'm not craping myself." jace said, looking at the outfit and well, maybe a small tiny itty bitty little part of him was wondering just what the diapers would feel like. "Deal!"
20 minutes later and Jace, the more powerful of all of those with angel blood.. was staring at himself in the mirror with a red face. the thick diapers pushed his legs apart and the black shortall's simply bulged trying to contain the double thick diapering he'd gone under. (and when he had tried to whine that one was enough, Stephen had merely pointed out that since it was for one day only, he wanted maxamin diaper butt cuteness..unless jace was willing to make it three day. at which point Jace had huffed and hugged the chicken stuffie his daddy had handed him) Stephen had even quickly checked jace's core temp while diapering him, slipping a finger in and out of his sons butt hole a few times and jace could almost swear there was still a finger or SOMETHING up there! his white diaper shirt did go along nice with the shortalls, and his power ranger socks and sonic sneakers (velco of course) had his crinkling and really looking like a big baby. 'toddler.' he reminded himself and huffed, clutching chickenboo (so what if he had named the stuffie already?) closer to his chest. "You look so friggen cute!" Stephen gushed, coming up behind his son and kissing the big toddler's cheek, making him squirm. "Daddy.." jace whined, but a little smile broke out. "So ready to go to the park and play?" Stephen asked, and ducked from the swing of death (trademark pending) that came from jace using Chickenboo. "take it thats a no." Stephen chuckled. "No outside!" "But daddy wants to push you on the swing set!" "NO.OUT.SIDE!" huffed the pouty boy who was glaring now. "how about a deal? if you can keep your diapies clean for a hour, then no outside. you go tinkle or boom boom.." Stephen trailed off and smiled. "..fine! but first me and chicken boo are going and checking the trash cans." "..for the last time, i'm not on smack!"
after checking the trash can's anyways, Chickenboo and jace settled down in the living room, sitting on the floor with his sneakers still on (just in case he decided he wanted to play outside according to daddy, like THAT was gonna happen) and watching cartoon while Daddy made them lunch. Seeing that it was Grilled cheese and fries jace put on a polite face, as he would of preferred some Chinese take out but then again he likely would of ended up having to answer the door and then would of had to kill the delivery boy to keep rumors of this from spreading, so it was for the best. the sandwich was mostly good till he got to the middle, where he started to gag and choke and Stephen was there in a instant, patting his back and asking if he was ok before Jace was finally able to spit up what had started to gag him, a slice of cucumber! "are you trying to poison me!?" the huffy big toddler whined in the aftermath. "..are you allegoric to them?" "No! but their GROSS! and Yucky!" Jace huffed and whined, then used part of the blanket he had been sitting on to wipe his touge to clear off the icky cucumber taste. '...and he wonders why I think he's perfect for being a big toddler.'
it wasn't too long after that though that jace had gone from playing with chickenboo, sitting up on the couch with daddy to bolt up and dashing for the bathroom. 'I was wondering when those would kick in.' Stephen thought, casually strolling up behind Jace who was now in the bathroom, whining and struggling with the shortalls, and pooting up a storm. "oh my, sounds like somebody could use some help!" "G-Guhh..Daddy come on! I'm gonna crap myself!" Jace whined and pleaded. "well you ARE diapered so that would be ok.. butttt I guess i'll be nice and let you use A potty." Stephen said. "thank you thank you thank you!" Jace mewed and turned so daddy could get the stupid frigging buckles undo for him. "but we'll have to go back out to the living room." Stephen added. "...but the toilets right here!" JAce whined and let out a LOUD fart that had the boy hunching over, a look of panic on his face. "The adult potty is, you're potty is in a closet in the living room. do you wanna argue with daddy and poop your diapies, or listen like a good boy and go boom boom in a potty?" "Big boy! big boy!" "heh. then take daddies hand." Stephen said and held his hand out. moaning and whining, jace limped behind Stephen as they headed back for the living room, he was on the verge of losing it and it was only his angel blood that had kept him from disgracing himself this far. the potty was a stupid DUCK and Jace instantly hated it, but compared to his other option he knew he couldn't be picky.. Daddy got his shortalls off and then undid the snaps on the diaper shirt as jace whimpered and whined, almost on the verge of tears. "Dadddy hurry! I can't hold it much longer!" the big baby whined, wetting his diapers as he struggled to hold his poopies in and then the diapers were tugged down and off, along with everything else and in just his socks and sneakers Jace plopped down on the duck potty, grabbing the handles and crying out as wave after wave of hot sludge erupted from his bottom. "P-P-Pooooping daddddy!" "yup, you sure are. on the potty! such a big boy!" Stephen said and kissed jac'es forehead as the poor boy was unloading everything in his guts. the smell quite frankly was awful, but to Stephen it was victory and he decided to hold off mentioning that the wet diapers meant they could go to the park. a weak trickle of urine mixed with the poopies and with a final spurting fart, Jace just leaned against the potty, panting and sweating. "wow, i'm shocked you still have your bones after that!" Stephen teased and got a weak glare from Jace. "Just..Just hand me some tp, a ice pack and let me mourn for my butt hole." Jace mumbled. "Cute. but little guys don't wipe themselves. you strong enough to stand up and bend over for daddy?...for me to wipe your butt..just realized how that sounds." stephen said, then added the second part quickly. "..I'd kick your butt but I just down have the power right now." Jace mumbled weakly and slowly got himself standing and bent over, closing his eyes tight as stephen wiped his now slightly gaping asshole with the little guy all clean, stephen led him to the bedroom, still naked save for his feet and noted that Jace looked half out of it, rubing a eye and yawning lots. not a dsingle argument was given as daddy laid him on the bed and tugged his shoes and socks off, then got the big toddler in a fresh diaper (only one this time and then handed jace chickenboo. "I think somebody could use a little nap." Stephen said and kissed jace's cheek as the oversized toddler blushed and snuggled into the stuffie. "am..kinda sleepy.." "Have a good sleep buddy. daddy love you~" Stephen coo'ed. "..Love you too daddy." the strongest demon slayer in the world mewed, then as daddy tugged the curtains closed and tip toed out, Jace drifted off to dreamland, with one last thought echoing in his head. 'Maybe this isn't so bad after all..'
